About Me

Hip hop/soul duo BLow began in August of 2004 as an experiment to see if the two genres could cohabitate and fuse in a workable better yet, awesome art form. They would be the first act in history to have a female rapper and a male singer. With hard hitting, innovative production, unbelievable vocals, top quality lyrics, and soul stirring delivery BLow is aspiring to be Hip Hop’s first Sonny and Cher! But, how did they come to be? The two met at the reknown Red Sea in St. Louis’ ever popular Delmar Loop on it’s weekly open mic night in late 2002. At the time Brandi "B-Lovely" Hampton was with hip hop group the Avenjahs as the only female producer/lyricist. Michael "LowMann" Williams was a solo artist of former R&B group VeryUs fame. He like other musicians there came to the Red Sea to hone his skills as a solo artist. Admiring each other’s artistry (and other assets) the two hooked up and established chemistry that evolved to, then exceeded romance. They later realized that they could literally make beautiful music together. BLow realizes that good music and thought provoking content go hand in hand, kind of like the chemistry between the two. Through their dynamic blend of hip hop and soul, their innovative style, and unique approach, BLow is proving to be a refreshing change in urban music.
