I'm out on the water just about every day, perfecting my skills. And NOPE...In case you were wondering...Fishing is not about "luck"...there is much skill involved :-) And like they say..."Practice DOES makes Perfect"
So if you're ever driving down the road and see a petite lady pulling a 21 foot boat behind a Big Black Toyota Tundra...that would most likely be me :-)
I've had an amazing last two years for so many different reasons. One of them is the fact that I have performed very well against many ladies who have been fishing professionally for many many years! In my rookie season (2006)I finished in 20th place for Angler of the Year. This is out of almost 130 ladies! I was close to making the Championship, but fell short by 8 spots, as only the top 12 quailfy. But, this year I secured my berth into the Championship by having a 14th place finish on the last tournament of the season at the Red River. That 14th place finish on the Red moved me up into 12th place for Angler of the Year. It was such a tight race, I'm just glad that I caught that last fish of the day, because that is what it pretty much boiled down to!
I travel all across the United States to puruit my passion. I have fished some of the nations most beautiful lakes. Here is a list of lakes that the Women's Bassmaster Tour has fished. Lewisville Lake(Texas), Neely Henry(Alabama), Lake Norman(North Carolina),Dardanelle(Arkansas), Bull Shoals(Missouri, Lake Amistad(Texas), Lake Guntersville(Alabama), Kentucky Lake(Kentucky), and The Red River(Louisiana).
The Women's Championship is being held on Lake Keowee in South Carolina on February 21-23, 2008. It occurs at the same time as the Bassmaster Classic.
Another thing that has made the last couple of years so wonderful is the fact that I have made some very close friends while fishing the Tour. I still find myself amazed that I can actually sit down and talk "Fish Talk" with other ladies who are just like me! Nope, we don't sit around talking about "shopping", or "who does your hair"...lol We much prefer to talk about "Drop shotting, Texas Rigging, Split Shot rig, lure modification, gear ratios, retrieval speeds, patterning fish," etc. Could you even imagine being surrounded by 200 ladies that can "talk the talk??" I never could either, which is why I would find myself in complete awe everytime these "deep" fishing conversations would occur. These ladies are all SO awesome, and they each of such a unique story to tell.
Visit my personal website for lots of photos of these great ladies!

I have a huge photo gallery, Tournament Diary and an interactive forum.
During tournament season, I spend a lot of time out on the road. If you see that I haven't signed on for a week or two, then you can assume that I am out of town at a tournament. Sometimes I have internet connection where I am staying, and other times I don't. But, even if I do have internet, my amount of time online is very limited because I am crazy busy preparing for my tournament, and spending sometimes 15 hours out on the water a day.
I want everyone here to know exactly how much I appreciate all of the nice comments and emails that you send me! Trust me when I tell you that I read them...I read each and every one of them! Please don't take it personally, or feel "rejected" if I don't send a reply. The truth is that there is just simply not enough time in the day to send a personal response to every email that I receive. If I did do this, then I would be sitting behind my computer 24 hours a day, and that is not where I want to be!
The pictures below represent the more "feminine" side of me, Marcia Rubin :-) I am a woman, and don't feel the need to abandon my "feminine" side to promote professional bass fishing. My femininity is just one of the many facets that make up who I am.
I've modeled off and on since High School. Much of the clothing that I am wearing was provided to me for the photo shoot. I ask that you do not judge me or my character based on these photos. I really am just a "normal" down to earth, T-shirt and jeans kind of gal that LOVES to fish :-) Most importantly, I am out to make this world a better place
