Well it all started back in the worlds most famous Diamond Mining city called Kimberley (South Africa) which is where I was born and raised. Life wasn't as jiggy as it is nowadays for me but music was the thread that kept my modest family alive and happy. My uncles played their scratchy Commodores,Percy Sledge,The Crusaders,Stevie Wonder and a lot of reggae records to me all the time and I would watch, listen admire and soon joined in with this singing thing. Those are my earliest memories of how I started and believe it or not I was 3 years old then.I havent stopped since.
I knew I had a very famous dad but never recall having any relationship with him, very little was said to me but from the words I remember it was always "You definitely got that voice from your father".Before he sadly passed on in the 80's he was a renowned trendsetting South African township music legend and even still today everyone knows who Jacob "Mpharanyana" Radebe is. I am damn proud to be an offspring of such a huge star and an inspiration to a lot of artists.
I completed my school years in kimberley and immediately packed my bags to Pretoria to pursue a career in showbusiness.I graduated after completing a four year musical theatre course and got awarded a dance scholarship to study at Ballet Rambert (London). That's how I came to my second home. Two years later I found myself in the original west end cast of The Lion King.I continued doing various shows and constantly writing, producing and recording.
Today I am going solo with all the mistakes made, improvements and maturity.I am currently working on my album with my mate and the baddest producer Drew Milligan (Blunt Recordings). My soon to be released debut single "Show u Love" which I wrote and co-produced is already on the bubble and this is because of my ever growing fans on myspace.Meanwhile get ready for a new artist (John Moabi) with a special cocktail of R&B/Hip Hop and South African vibes.P.S (I dedicate this career to the late Josephine, Leah, John senior, Godfrey, Rodney and my dad the star*)
