If passion was an art form “Chase†would be an innovator for his adaptation of love - Music. “I gotta be writing, playing the piano, and singing all the time to let Music know how I feel. It’s like when you’re in a relationship, you have to call all the time to let the other person know you care,†states Chase.
Born in Chicago, Illinois with little support and no formal training Chase began his courtship with music as a vocalist. Inspired by artists such as Stevie Wonder, Donnie Hathaway, and Brian McKnight, Chase began to cultivate his own sound. In humble fashion he explains, “Initially, it wasn’t my goal to be an artist. I started out writing and producing first.†Yet, Chase’s mentor, Trevor Lawrence (Drummer extraordinaire to Stevie Wonder), saw great potential in Chase and brought him into the kinship of the music industry.
As the newest face on the R&B scene, Chase has accumulated a strong fan base. “I want my music to inspire others to sing, write, or play the piano. I want to be able to write that song a guy plays to a girl when he is in love and can’t find the words to express how he feels. Then…I top it off with club bangers to get the party jumpin!â€
Having eloquence with his words, Chase’s enthusiasm is not only apparent through his music, but is apparent in his excitement with being in love for the first time (with music). Keep your eyes on the television and your ears to the radio. Music is back! In more ways than one!
