About Me
ABOUT TRE-LLEI
These days, Southern rappers come a dime a dozen. It seems every magazine, radio station, website, & music tv channel have submitted to the South's strong hold of the industry. With ringtone and album sales dominating the business all across the board, the South's presence is undeniable. At the same time, while the numbers speak for themselves, not everyone is snapping and popping, as a growing number of critics are also making their presence felt. With record after record of the same topics & themes, the people are ready for something different. The people are ready for Tre-Llei.
Before relocating to Georgia, Florida, & eventually Detroit, Tre-Llei spent the majority of his life in Houston's Alief neighborhood. In addition to hometown favorites like E.S.G., Archie Lee, Ghetto Twinz, & Scarface, you can hear the influence of Twista, Bone Thugs n Harmony, & perhaps most evident, Nas, throughout Tre's music. It was Tre's extracurricular activities outside of music, in the streets, however, that eventually forced him to leave Houston for bigger & better things. It's his diversity, charisma, ridiculously strong stage presence, & undeniable talent that made being received in the cash-strapped city of Detroit, Michigan look easy. Whether it's political, romantic, lyrical, or radio friendly, Tre-Llei is a force to be reckoned with.
After putting out 2 solo albums & appearing on 2 different compilations for his own label, 2 Worlds Records, Tre's stock in the game continues to rise. It was Tre-Llei's live performances, in addition to his releases, that ignited his ever growing buzz in the industry. It was doing shows all over Detroit with the likes of Boss ( Def Jam circa ' 92 ), Cheddar Boys, & Woof Pac ( Iron Fist Records ), among others, that led to various offers & deals from a number of promoters & record labels. While time is money, patience is also a virtue, & the question is not WILL the right opportunity come along, but WHEN?
