That's Seoul Tower, my 'hood, in the background ;-)Yes, I'm in Seoul, but I consider San Francisco to be home. I moved there to attend law school and just fell in love with the city. This new background is just minutes from where I live. I'll miss Seoul when I go. I'll probably move back to L.A., and I won't be able to afford the same view of the city that I have here :(However, I've been overseas for a bit too long, so it's time to wrap it up. I've decided to give myself a year. I'll finish my master's next semester and I'll use the rest of that time to cram as much Korean language skills into my brain as possible. I'll miss it a lot, but, as they say, there really is no place like home.
As I said, I'm on a quest to get more letters behind my name. So in addition to my B.A. (double major in English and Philosophy) and law degree, I'm getting a master's degree here in Korea with the goal of going for my doctorate. I've decided that I'll get it back home, so I have to start prepping for the GRE (I thought I was done with standardized tests after taking that dammed LSAT.) Ultimately, my goal is to opine ad nauseum on international society and politics.
    Sound dull to you?
Excellent! That means less competition for a job for me! Should the field actually fill up, I can always go back to bartending which I did while in law school.

Two to tango?:Bring it!~~~"I always feel like somebody's watching me!"~~~

'What will your obituary say?' at QuizGalaxy.com ....I'd like to meetHonestly, I've been online via various mediums and handles for over 12 years. I'm firing up things like MySpace to keep in touch with friends and family, but to also meet new people. So if you have an opinion on something other than Page Six (and if you don't know what that is, I probably don't want to bother with you) then let me know you exist.
I have made some "good friends on communities like these, but it is too much of a strain on the resources to have to weed through all the creeps to get to the "few good (wo)men""

  • I'm going to be very leery of people I don't already know, either personally or through debates on some forum or through reading/commenting of blogs. It's truly nothing personal (how can it be, I don't know you), but it takes time and I hate having to block folks, so I'm just making the sieve a bit harder to get through.
If you're anyone on my friends list, of course, I'd love to meet you. If you're ever in Seoul, send me a message ;-) aise a (mostly) decent kid.

    Music:

As for music, I like anything that is good, and I mean anything. Thanks to my parents, I don't look at the world through the lens of my race or gender. That means I enjoy music as predictable as R&B, blues, jazz and hip-hop yet as surprising as country (yes, bitch, my parents did watch Hee Haw.)

The eclectic tastes are fun when more mainstream types can't quite understand it

I simply love music. It's cathartic and it just makes me happy. I'll update my blog here with what I'm listening to as much as possible, however, I don't think anyone really cares and I'm damn busy.

    Movies:

Fight Club, Trois couleurs: Blue, Trois couleurs: Blanc, Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi, A Clockwork Orange, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Moulin Rougue/Romeo and Juliet (same director), Breakfast at Tiffanys, Something About Mary, Princes et Princesses, Thelma and Louise

    Television:

Sex and the City (come on, you know it was funny), In Living Color, Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, Project Runway

    Books:

Pride and Prejudice, A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius, Fight Club, the Harry Potter series, Does America Need a Foreign Policy?, Capitalism. Democracy. and Ralph's Pretty Good Grocery, The Koreans, The Anarchical Society

    Heroes:

I'm not one to idolize people, but there are many people I admire. Some are famous, but some aren't. My biggest heros are my parents who bucked modern trends, stayed together, had a fairly traditional family and managed to raise a (mostly) decent kid.
