Elísabet Ásberg started her carrier in 1990 as a designer of fine jewelry for fashion boutiques in Iceland. She began in the late 90's to develop her work with silver materials into interior decorative items, accessories, and sculptures. Her wall sculptures, which varied in width from 20cm to over 1 meter, were first introduced to great acclaim at a private exhibition in December 1999.In 2002, following the initial success of her new line of work, Ms. Ásberg was commissioned to design a series of unique signature pieces for the new Valencia luxury hotel chain in the United States (www.hotelvalencia.com). The set of pieces she created was called "Doors" and featured 5 different designs. One of Mrs. Ásbergs pieces is located in each of the 460 rooms of their hotels in San Antonio, Texas and San Jose, California.Ms. Asberg introduced "Flow", a new line of wall sculptures, made of silver, sand blasted glass and various other metals and natural materials in the year 2004. The frames are very simple, clean looking and allow the attention to be focused on the silver design at the heart of the art piece.She has since then introduced various new lines of decorative items including decorating a leather line of placemats, napkin holders, glass mats and runners made with design metal.Ms Asberg has received dozens of commissions from private collectors and businesses including corporate offices and homes in London, for celebrities and other designers...This profile was edited with Thomas' myspace editor™ V2.5
