About Me

Nancy grew up on a farm in Northern Minnesota around the Detroit Lakes area. As in innocent little girl she loved all the animals on the farm and gave them all names. She loved to wander through the fields and build forts out of anything she could find. She would never pass up a chance to climb the trees, ride on the tractors and play on the machinery. She now resides in Minneapolis and is currently writing a book titled "Beyond the Edge" about her experience with compulsive gambling. She shares the dark world of gambling in which she lived for so many years and how she survived a whole new world in prison. The second part of her book is called "The Journey." This part of the book expands on her recovery. The limitations of being a felon and how she has overcome many of those obstacles, the special people in her life who have given her encouragement and love, and all the miracles that have come her way. Sometimes we are impatient for things that we want, however, everthing happens at exactly the right moment in time!!!! Good things do come to those who wait. She does public speaking about addictions, recovery and prison.She has been active in the reinstatement of parole for federal prisoners as well as the bill for the Second Chance Act which assists federal offenders re-entering society.
