French musician Tchen Tchen is a single producer, composer and performer. Some kind of a one man band. Blending rock with electro, light pop, Spanish dub, Italian B-movie segue or atmospheric downtempo, Tchen Tchen is definitely a versatile musician lost in supermarket(ing).
Main influences ranging from Clash to David Bowie and French duo such as Air or Rita Mitsouko. On stage, the project is shared by a bunch of musicians who give a more live and direct mood to the fairly electronic oriented tracks.
First discovered in Les Inrocks in 2002, Tchen Tchen regularly collaborates with such alternate bands as Sporto Kantes or Williams Traffic and is part of Gangz (see www.gangz.org).
After releasing numerous tracks on various samplers and a 12 for the side project United Freaks, Tchen Tchen will release in october his first LP So Messed Up - through La Baleine. Stay tuned !
