Band Members: The Computers
The Computers are the real deal - hard, fast, snarling, garage punk with attitude and a lot of style. Although not long out of the starting blocks they have already notched up some impressive support slots with Gay for Johnny Depp , Rival Schools and Fightstar as well as tours in France , Germany and Poland! Loved by Rock Sound, Kerrang and Radio 1 expect these four saviours of British punk rock to be everywhere by the end of 2008!
Scholars
Scholars play what comes naturally to them – melodic rock with a healthy dose of energy and passion. Combining pop sensibilities and anthemic choruses with creative instrumental arrangements and thoughtful lyrics, the band have created a blend of alt-rock, indie and emo which is heartfelt and free from pretension.
Gay For Johnny Depp
Gay For Johnny Depp are all your worst nightmares rolled into one. Controversial, threatening, offensive, uncompromising, unpredictable and the most fun punk rock party you are ever likely to find yourself locked in a tiny uncomfortable room with. After two brief and angry EPs this New York crew have returned with a masterpiece of a début album, "The Politics Of Cruelty". Twisted noise never sounded so good!
S H Davidson
With or without his occasional backing band The Hardbacks, this studious young Scottish chap never fails to make your heart soar and break in equal amounts.
Honest, intelligent songwriting taking in his travels, literature, relationships and a joy of making music. His debut album is due sometime in 2008, when he finds himself with enough time out from his 'day job' in Tellison to complete it.
Gavin Osborn
Gavin Osborn drops beats like old people drop dead. Inevitably and surrounded by sadness. Folk? Yes. Acoustic? Double yes. Lyrical? Yes, again, yes. His album 'In The Twee Small Hours" is full of tales both melancholic and witty.
Hearts Under Fire
HUF are a four piece from Surrey with ballsy, melodic, impassioned songs reminiscent of Rise Against, Alkaline Trio and AFI with a dash of 65 Days Of Static-style instrumentation and amazing four way vocals. Oh, and they're all female. We think they're one of the most exciting new rock bands to come out of the UK in aeons.
Encyclopedia
Encyclopedia is a two-piece pop band from Yeovil, Somerset, UK. Their debut album 'So Hot Right Now' was released at the end of 2006 and is full of perfect sing-a-long sunkissed pop songs about girls, boys, computer games and being in a band. 70s influenced rock played on guitars and sequencers. Magic!
Orko
Having released their critically acclaimed debut album 'Creating Short Fiction' in 2006 and a limited edition split 10" with My Awesome Compilation in 2007, these melodic emotional Scottish rockers keep going from strength to strength. Their live performances are powerful and jaw dropping. They've already toured with Hundred Reasons, Biffy Clyro, Hell Is for Heroes and My Awesome Compilation as well as playing shows with Fightstar, Succioperro and Brigade.
Boom In The Diamond Industry
The UK's best kept secret? When not moonlighting in various guises with Get Cape and The Automatic, the members of Boom ITDI get together to make some of the catchiest, most arse-shaking guitar music you'll have heard in years. One day, their long awaited album will be the soundtrack to all your best house parties.
