HairCare & Fabulous Extensions for the Dignified Woman

About Me

I'm a young professional who is all about the business of LOVING and the concept of CARING for hair from root to tip. I believe in regular trims. I believe in scalp massages to stimulate growth. I believe in deep conditioning treatments while seated under a hooded dryer. I believe in using specific oils targeted to solve hair issues. I believe in roller-sets first, and then blow outs! I believe in waiting three to four weeks before you color your hair after relaxing. You may say I'm a young chick doing it old school style, but if you take a look of the state and condition of model's and actor's hair back then, you'll see the difference. Sure, we won't always have time to sit under a dryer and take forever with our hair, but I do believe in doing what you can for your locks. Why not pamper yourself with the BEST haircare products and treatments?
I also specialize in Ethnic Haircare-- African American Natural, Relaxed, Texturized or just curly, frizzy, kinky, nappy hair! YOU CAN MANAGE YOUR HAIR AND STILL HAVE IT NATURAL-- it just takes some patience and dedication!
My own personal product line will me coming out in 2009- more information as it comes.

My Interests

Haircare to the highest degree possible. Anybody can style hair-- but how many people can you say truly care about the ORIGIN and HEALTH of your hair, from root to tip? I specialize in deep conditioners, hot oil treatments, and hair masks (all made in my kitchen) as well as gentle styling that will nurse your hair through it's toughest times.

I'm an Extension Artist---I use a innovative technique that invloves NO GLUE, NO HEAT, NO BRAIDS, NO SEWING, NO CHEMICALS and NO DAMAGE, whatsoever. Hard to believe, right?! I know! It encapsulates your hair under the quality 100% full cuticle hair that I order in so that your real hair can be protected and grow in while you flaunt your sexy, full, and long style! You can even relax and color over these extensions! Interested? Drop me a line!

I love styling.
While modern looks are easy and fun

I'd like to meet:

Other professionals who are passionate about the state of their client's hair. The ones who will refuse and turn away a potential client until their hair is safe enough to work on. The ones who grease the scalp, nape, and ears before a relaxer. The ones who put color half an inch from the scalp first. The ones who do things by the book, but have an internal instinct and can continue the rest of the way with their gut. The ones who know that a trim is a trim and not a cut!
The type of client/friend who is concerned about CARING for their hair first, and then having it look sexy and styled second. The ones who know it takes time to nurse hair back to health after treating it so wrong, for so long! The ones who don't mind coming back to me in a month. The ones who actually do.
Indpendent men and women who are secure with their goals and aspirations and can admit that they are not always on top of staying focused...because I can too!

Music:

I love anything with a hot beat and melody! Neosoul, Hip Hop, Pop, R&B, Alternative, Rock/Rap, etc. Some artists include: Jean Grae, Esthero, Mos Def, Fort Minor, Carla Vallet, Jesse Powell, The Used, Joe, Juelz, D'Angelo, Gavin Degraw, Jo Jo, Maxwell, Black Eyed Peas, Corneille, Talib, Jill Scott, M.I.A., Toni Braxton, Jigga, Susan Cagle, Outkast, Miss. Beyonce, Madonna, John Legend, T.I., No Doubt, Kelly Clarkson, Wyclef, Erykah, The Fray, Kanye, Peaches, Busta, Ms. Jackson, Missy, Mary J, Aaliyah, The Roots, Joseph Arthur, My Chemical Romance...
As you can see, it's very diverse!

Movies:

Romance, Comedies, Drama, Indies, and Documentaries. Too many to list here!

Television:

Grey's Anatomy, Nip/Tuck, Sex and The City, One Tree, Girlfriends, My Wife & Kids, Bernie Mac, Oprah, ER!

Books:

Wow...Dandicat, Faulkner, T.S. Elliot, Zane, Achebe, Sistah Soulja. I love Vintage books that inspire me, also modern magazines like Glamour, Vogue, W, Essence, Vibe Vixen. Of course hairstyling mags are often my jumping off point.

Heroes:

My mother, my children, Oprah, people who have sacrificed their life and comfort for others. My ancestors who have gone before me and hurt their backs, and broken their fingers so that I can live so freely and content. Madam C.J. Walker, the founder of modernized African American haircare. Thank you.
