Taylor Swift
Taylor Swift's story is being written; but believe it or not, this is only her first chapter, musically speaking. Her story begins in the small farm town of Wyomissing, PA where at the age of 10 she started performing at karaoke contests, festivals and county fairs. The first inkling that Taylor was going to be a star was when she sang the national anthem at a Philadelphia 76ers game at the tender age of 11. A year later she picked up a 12 string guitar and set out to be a songwriter. Taylor inherited her musical ability from her grandmother, a professional opera singer, and was supported by her family, who started charting regular visits to Nashville, TN to further her career. Eventually they moved to closer to Nashville to enable her to pursue her dream as a singer/songwriter. After writing about 250 songs (yes, that many) she started to work with other songwriters, like Robert Ellis Orrall and Liz Rose, and developed as an artist....[ Read More ]

Chrisette Michele
If you haven't heard of music sensation Chrisette Michele, you might have been out of television or radio wave range and it's now time to come out from under that rock and indulge yourself. The smooth sound that emits from this 24-year-old Def Jam artist is truly a treat to take advantage of. The only thing that tops Chrisette's voice on her debut CD "I Am" is her voice live. As proven during her summer tour as the opening act for Musiq Soulchild that just concluded, the singer lives up to Antonio "LA" Reid's praise. "When Chrisette Michele enters a room...The room becomes a better place, because she's in it," says the music mogul. In the case of her Chicago performance on July 8, 2007 at the House of Blues, the room was more than receptive. When Chrisette said clap, no one argued; when she whispered low soul into the microphone, it created goose bumps without anyone straining to hear and when she left the stage, the new fans wanted more... Metric
Lead singer Emily Haines, of the Toronto based group Metric, takes a languid saunter across the stage to her keyboard at the beginning of the show. She's wearing silver leggings and a green glow-in-the-dark Love and Rockets t-shirt, because she says that she "can't rock the Barbra Streisand shirt" she also has. Then, Black Sheep, one of their new songs, explodes from the stage and immediately Emily is caught up in her own music...[ Read More ]

Otep
Confrontation is the anthem of this disc! The song gets your adrenaline pumping at the first note that rages out the speakers. The CD is pure energy including many underlying tones of the dark disturbing sides of life. Otep presents aggression in the music of what is real to so many. Emotions are not scattered but defined within each track, through morbid visions, these feeling and emotions described in uncensored detail. Many themes seem to scurry through the CD including religions upbringing, sexual abuse, substance abuse, violence, basically the horror of man. The summary is this damn disc is very good, lyrically, musically and thrashing f'ng mad. Go buy the damn thing!...[ Read More ]

Londin
Londin has been singing since she was five year's old. A great voice in many church choirs since she has been eight years old, then at the age of 14, she auditioned for the All City Choir of Chicago and made it. That sparked her creativity not only as a vocalist but as a writer. Londin started writing poetry and lyrics at around at 16. Londin joined an all girls singing group, however due to differences of opinion and creative ideas the group broke up. Londin stopped singing briefly in high school to focus on studies.....[ Read More ]
