I can get lost for hours in drawing or writing or playing my bass. If I could get paid to do these things, it would be fantastic!
Good people are my favorite, I'd have to say.
One reason I know I'll never work in radio is the fact that I would go from Jaco Pastorius to Led Zeppelin to Husker Du to the Allman Brothers to Badly Drawn Boy to Bob Marley to the Brian Jonestown Massacre to Parliament without missing a beat. Okay, maybe college radio.
A good comedy. Nothing beats a good comedy. But I also enjoy fun action/sci-fi movies with over the top FX.
The channels where you can actually learn something are the ones I get into...you know, AnimalPlanet, Discovery, National Geographic, etc. Who cares if I'm never going to use any of that info, its still interesting. Besides, I don't remember most of what I learned in school, so what's the difference? Antique Roadshow is probably the most under-rated out there and, oh yeah, Sportscenter is crucial to daily existance.
My book collection is all over the place. But mostly I enjoy books with good character development and interaction. Timothy Zahn is a great author. I also enjoy going back and reading books I got in college...lots of historical, philosophical and cultural knowledge that I skimmed over, apparantly.
I'm gonna get sappy here and say that my dad is my biggest hero. The guy is a machine and has never let me fail, try as I might.
