About Me

music - The art of arranging sounds in time so as to produce a continuous, unified, and evocative composition, as through melody, harmony, rhythm, and timbre
What is it about Music? It's really an amazing concept. How do sounds, vibrations, connect with some of the deepest of human emotions? Music can be so many different things. It can be the difference between having a good day and a bad day. It can be what makes that one night of summer vacation the night that you'll never forget. It can be what makes that everyday subway ride into the city for the dead end job you despise a little easier to deal with. It can be the reason you can barely walk when you get home because you were out dancing to it all night. It can be what convinces you ask your girlfriend to marry you, or to divorce your husband. It can make you happy to be alive, or just want to die. It's these and countless other reasons that truly make Music the soundtrack to your life, and our lives.
Paris Avenue is what we call the Music that we create. We are a four peice band from New York. My name is Nick. I play guitar and I sing. I am the main songwriter of the band. Andrew is my brother and he is by far the best drummer I have ever written or performed Music with. Him and I have been playing together for 6 years and he is all but 17 years old. Mike is our bassplayer and he amazes me no less. The guy is unbelievable at his instrument. Our newest member and friend is Joe. He plays guitar and ads such a huge layer to our sound. We try our best to create honest, undisguised, truthful Music and we do it in the form of Rock and Roll. Our influences range widely from artists as bizarre as Bjork, to artist as brutal as Pantera, as classic as Costello but as current as The Postal Service. We are a band that is absolutly in love with Music. We eat it, breath it, sleep it and shit it. It's what's in our veins and in our brains. The Music that we create is the soundtrack to our lives, because it is simply what we live for. We do everything in our power to get it out to as many people as we can. We have toured regularly since the summer of 2004 and have plans for a 3-week August 2005 tour. We have recorded two EP's in the last year and a half and a 3rd one is in the works. We have our songs up on numerous websites that get our name and sound out to people who never would have gotten the chance to discover us otherwise.
We would love nothing more than to be able to do this for the rest of our lives. It is our passion, it is our love. The Music that we create is the soundtrack to our lives, and we would be honored if it would get a small spot on yours.
Thank you for your support,
Mike, Andrew, Joe and Nick.
