Bio:
The 5 members of Satellite Grey started their journey in April 2006 with 2 common goals in mind…to break free from the norm and to think out of the box!
Leaning on years of experience on stage and in the studio, the members of Satellite Grey show a dedication to their craft that is far too commonly missing in today’s bands. Using this experience, they have become known not only as excellent musicians, but skilled entertainers. Coordinating artwork, visuals, and a progressive, yet pop/rock musical style, Satellite Grey has managed to embrace the secret to entertaining the masses at a level that was previously unknown to Hawaii’s music scene.
Pulling from influences such as Coheed and Cambria, Incubus, HIM, The Muse, Chevelle, and Tool, just to name a few, but with a female lead vocalist, their diversity is a strong point. Pop hooks, progressive song writing, and a constant focus on keeping their audience’s head bobbing ensure that there is something for everyone to enjoy within the music. Satellite Grey has strived for perfection in the writing of their debut album, Mirror Transmission, which was released in April of 2007.
The members of Satellite Grey have been very fortunate over the years to share the stage with notable artists such as Default, Jerry Cantrell and Hollywood based Building A Better Spaceship. Their music has been featured on Star 101.9 (ClearChannel), KPOI 105.9, and KTUH 90.3. They have also worked with Honolulu’s promotional heavyweights BAMP Project. Satellite Grey has always been active in supporting charities through performances including Rock the Vote, AIDS Awareness and Tsunami Relief Benefits.
