The possible's slow fuse is lit by the Imagination. - E. Dickinson

About Me

Well, generally, I would suppose that one would like to put some sort of crisp and witty statement here. But, uh, I don't really have something like that. So I guess I'll just tell you about me and let you go from there...

I am… well, let's see… to the best of my ability, I am:

- a Teacher… I teach... where? At the moment that is To Be Decided.

- a Student… when I'm in school, I major in Psych & minor in Early Child Development (I'm aiming at a degree in Counseling Psych. Eventually. At this rate it may take another 15 years.)

- a Writer… I have always written fiction. I always will. It is ingrained in who I am. Although, poetry, even though I respect it like mad and love what other people can do with it- when it comes to me, "I cannot love, nor write it." That phase of my life was like a photo of a bad haircut- best left to Life's bottom drawer to be forgotten and groaned about when mistakenly rediscovered.

- an Artist… I own a jewelry business called Blissful Creations.

- a Cat Lady… I have five four cats... Ted unexpectly died on the morning of June 23rd, 2008. (R.I.P, yo. Much love, little brother.)

I also have a dog, who does his very best to deal with my shortcomings, misunderstanding of most everything he does and yet- he loves me anyway.

Best and most important to me, I am… a Friend. I adore all of my friends, and I truly hope they will always know that- old or new, they are ALWAYS a friend. No matter what. Sometimes, I may fall short with my intentions- as good and genuine as they may be. However, the sincerity is indisputable and they always- in the end, find affection for me in return. For which I am beyond grateful.

Ok, the Kitty Dance Video is one of the very few things in this world that makes me inordinately happy EVERY SINGLE TIME I watch it. So, if you want, feel free. If not, whatever. It's not for everyone, but if you "get it" and like it, you'll probably just die of teh cute, and you'll most likely watch the video 345730947539075 times. Then you'll add it to your own Myspace. Otherwise, you won't care a lick and you'll just move on. Whatever you fancy, kitten- s'up to you.

*walks off singin' and doin' the Kitty Dance: 'I'm a cat… I'm a kitty cat! And I meowmeowmeow, and I meowmeowmeow'...*

Music:

Tori Amos, Dashboard Confessional, Creeping Lovely, Black Lab, 7Nv, Astronaut Wife, Candlebox, Donovan, Faith No More, The Doors, The Shins, Everlast, All American Rejects, Placebo, Eric Burdon & The Animals, The Streets, The Zombies, Violent Femmes, Enya, Audio Bullys, Marylin Manson, Allison Krauss, Type O negative, Bruce Springstein, The Kinks, Henry Rollins, Pink Floyd, Danzig, the dub pistols, Elbow, Crosby Stills & Nash, 7 mary 3, Lady Sovereign, Morcheeba, Damien Rice, Snowpatrol, Nina Simone, Kimya Dawson, Billie Holiday, Everything but the girl, Anna Nalick, Praga Khan, Beth Orton, Pearl Jam, Toad the wet sprocket, Dean Martin, House of Pain, Sun Kil Moon, Dave Matthews, Mika, Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, Brave Horateous, Death Cab for Cutie, James Blunt, Ingrid Michealson, The Libertines, The Artic Monkeys, RHCP...

Oh, and I really dig instrumental guitar music. I also reallyreally like most any sort of classical music except for pieces with excessive violin, organ solos or things written by Wagner. They just make me glad I'm as deaf as I am.

An Inconvenient Truth , Shakespeare in Love, Tristan + Isolde, The Sea Inside, Dirty Filthy Love, SLC Punk!, Heathers, The Cat Returns, My Neighbor Totoro, Galaxy Quest, Eddie Izzard- Dress To Kill, Henry Rollins- Shock & Awe, Elizabeth, Stealing Beauty, Sin City, The Godfather (I and II only), The Princess Bride, Spun, Fight Club, Underworld, Pitch Black, Kill Bill 1&2, Fulltime Killer, Tampopo, No Country for Old Men, Labyrinth, Clay Pigeons, Garden State, Hustle and Flow, Lords of Dogtown, The Lost Skeleton of Cadavra, The Boondock Saints, Firefly- Serenity, The Jacket, Monty Python's The Holy Grail, Monty Python's The Life of Brian, Monty Python's The Meaning of Life, The Pianist, Denis Leary's No Cure For Cancer, Brokeback Mountain, Inside Man, Gosford Park, Greenfingers, Closer, Children of Men, A Scanner Darkly, Lollilove, Unconditional Love, The Queen, Before Night Falls, Sonny, The Darwin Awards (purely for the scene with the bungy cords), SAW 1&3,4 (2 was a WASTE!), Jarhead, Raising Genius, The Color of Freedom, Death at a Funeral, Sweeny Todd, Hairspray, Juno...

Obviously? I reallyreally like movies. So, I cannot possibly begin to list all of the movies I like and have watched here. These are just the ones that I would sit down and watch again (and again). Also, if you've got favorites not listed here? Be sure to lemme know about them because I'm always open to new suggestions for my viewing pleasure.

Television:

Well, I used to watch Buffy the vampire slayer, Angel and FireFly but they canceled those. I also used to watch 6 Feet Under, but that went off the air. I really liked Dead Like Me, but they canceled that too.

So, I canceled my cable.

FUCK TELEVISION.

Movies are better.

Well, movies ARE better- however... through the miracle that is Netflix, I've discovered that Heroes, SECOND SIGHT, Weeds, Rescue Me, Deadwood, Freaks & Geeks, Morgan Spurlock's 30 DAYS, Penn & Teller's Bullshit, House, M.D., Transgeneration, One Punk Under God and Micheal Palin's AROUND THE WORLD are some of the BEST shows you will ever lay your hands on.

Also, #9 is my Doctor- and I'll have Capt. Jack any time, any place.
