Taught violin by her father, Nicole won a scholarship to Chetham's School of Music at the age of 16 where she studied with Richard Deakin. Continuing her studies at the Royal Academy of Music with Mateja Marinkovic, Erich Gruenberg and Howard Davis, she graduated with first class honours in 1996.
In 1999 she joined the first violin section of the London Symphony Orchestra and became a founder member of the Tippett String Quartet. Nicole has worked with many major orchestras including the English Chamber, Royal Philharmonic and Philharmonia Orchestras and has appeared as a soloist all around the UK including at the Barbican Centre and on BBC Radio3.
Nicole made her debut as a radio presenter on Classic FM radio in 2004 with her own series "The Classic FM Guide to the Orchestra" and made her television debut as a presenter for the BBC Prom concerts live on BBC4 TV in 2005. She has presented extensively at concerts and competitions throughout the UK including the Barbican Centre and Symphony Hall in Birmingham and will be appearing again for BBC 4 TV at this year's Prom Concerts.
