Perfect Union

About Me

Perfect Union is a band from Sterling, Virginia, and was formed in the fall of 2004 with its original members consisting simply of a two-some; Matt Bowen - Guitar/Vocals and Tristan Nilson - Drums. A few months later they added bassist Billy Rutherford to the lineup. After initially jamming with Billy, everything seemed to fit perfectly into place both musically and chemistry-wise, thus the name 'Perfect Union.' Perfect Union's musical drive was inspired by the desire to break the mundane, overplayed music that is currently the most popular 'scene' today; i.e. Emo, Screamo, Hardcore, Un-melodic Metal. Contribution to bring the true meaning of 'Rock' back into today's scene has been their goal essentially from day one.Perfect Union's musical genre is nearly impossible to pinpoint because of the diversity they ensure is incorporated into their Set list, but they are often compared as a combination of such bands as Nirvana and the Beatles. Their variation of musically classified genres is such an eclectic mix, that despite what 'scene' the crowd consists of, at least one song will usually appeal to each of the different musical preferences present in the crowd. Perfect Union has played from as small of venues such as tiny cafes, to as big of venues such as Nation, in Washington, D.C. Out of the 3 Battle of the Bands they have participated in, they have come away with 1st place in two of them, and 2nd in one of them. Despite battling the adverse crowds of 'scene' inclined audiences, and taking a 6 month hiatus, they have still defined a respected, well-liked name for themselves in the D.C. Metropolitan area.
I sent the songs into the library of congress.
