Thanks for visiting my site. Many of you have asked me for more Bio information, so I am slowly getting 'round to that.FOR HIRE
In the mean time, suffice it to say I am a working Free Lance Saxophone/Improv Player and Instructor in Birmingham, AL.
LESSONS
Besides saxophone and trumpet lessons, I very much enjoy teaching jazz improvisation to any music student reaching for the next level of musical theory and performance.
LOCAL PERFORMANCE
I am a current member of The Charlie Soul Band and The Kendra Sutton Band. I have also played many local establishments with such bands as Al Kieth Band, Big Daddy's New Band, South Of Blue, Stuart McNair Band, The Sky Dogs, and more.
NATIONAL ACT
I have opened for blues legend Bobby Rush at Wellington's Bistro, and Poppa Grows Funk at Zydeco, played in a jazz sextet with Grammy-Nominated B3 Organ extraordinaire Joey DeFrancesco, and played in one of John Travolta's first feature films, Blow Out. I have been fortunate to meet, play with, and/or know several world-class entertainers who have all influenced and encouraged me both personally and professionally.
CIVIC DUTY
After serving in three different Army Bands with nearly 8 years Honorable service, I still have the overwhelming desire to help my community whenever duty calls. I have played and will continue to play fund raisers, community events and festivals to help support Katrina Victims, Autism Sufferers, Blood Drives, Down Syndrome, Fireman's Benefits, Flood Victims, Police Benefits, and so much more than I can list here.
