BIOGRAPHY

The Insidious Rays are a 4 piece rock band that spans multiple styles of music.

Hailing from Bethlehem, PA, The Insidious Rays (Matty Love--vocals/guitar, Dickie MeanBean--bass, Jonny Pakalolo--drums and Mikey Retard--guitar have been performing since Jan 2001. The Rays have worked relentlessly by releasing four albums, promoting numerous tours, and contributing unique music to compilations, soundtracks, scores, and theatre productions. In January of 2006, they were voted band of the week by High Times Magazine.

Their explosive live performances have received acclaim from audiences of all demographics, and attracted the attention of producer Andrew Weiss (Ween, Rollins Band, Butthole Surfers, Yoko Ono, and Grammy winners Café Tacuba). This relationship led to Weiss recording, mixing and producing the Rays 4th album (Exotic Handshakes, 2005).

The Rays have certainly established their presence, and with new doors opening they have no intention of idling now. They will continue to pursue their vision the same way they always have, with honest songs and phenomenal music.

Influences: Ya know how in science class when they try to explain the distance between the sun and any of the planets, the teacher will be all like, "if this apple was the sun, the nearest planet would be five miles away", or some shit like that. It's kinda cool and interesting information, but you sure as shit ain't walking five miles to get the full effect. Well, it's the same with the Rays' list of influences. It would probably be easier to type out the dictionary... but I'm not gonna do that either. Suffice it to say that The Insidious Rays are influenced by music of all types. Progressive, simple, grandiose, intimate, traditional, brand new, whatever. The better your understanding of the artist playing the music, the more likely you are to be influenced by it.
Sounds Like: Everything you've ever heard before, and nothing you've ever heard before.
Record Label: Insidious Music
