11thDay is a solo/studio project featuring the music of Minneapolis guitarist Joseph Jachimiec.
My musical influences are many; from seminal friends that showed me my first shred guitar licks, to the musicians I've worked with, to online piano instructors. From these influences a hybrid of music is produced; sometimes heavy, sometimes not, but always driven by integrity, melody, soul, and technique.
My musical resume and history is pretty varied. I've had some classical piano training, as well as some training in jazz guitar and a tiny bit of classical guitar. But my real love is metal, always was and always will be. Besides numerous studio and guest guitar spots, I have been in Midwest-based bands Contagion, The Treehuggers, Ala Balik, DODD, Gangplow, and Head Cold. Through these bands, I have been fortunate to work with incredible musicians from Demonicon, Coherent Liquid Form, Theatre of the Macabre, Necromis, Porcelain God, Banehinge, Skrum, Locus, Beckwith, The Embellishment, Flat Earth Revival, Smack Davis, The Rebuilts, Powermad, LTD, Aesma Daeva, Whisper In The Noise, Skywynd, Barfly, and Thump N' Crunch. I have also shared the stage with many international acts including Godsmack, Collective Soul, Slipknot, Napalm Death, Days Of The New, Malevolent Creation, Devastation, Demolition Hammer, American Head Charge, Genitorturers, Skunk Anansie, and Suffocation.
Currently I am updating my studio, woodshedding, writing, and recording. I also play guitar in the progressive metal band Gracepoint and heavy alternative rock band, Angry At Numbers. In the near future, I want to record a guitar instrumental album in the vein of the old Shrapnel records. It will have a ton of guest guitarists (local shredder friends) and maybe some guest vocalists. I also hope to record a brutal, heavy project in the vein of Fear Factory/Meshuggah/Arch Enemy with a little bit of Filter/Deftones thrown in. Angry At Numbers (as well as Gracepoint) will also be entering the studio in the near future.
About the name: 11thDay is a living tribute to my father who suffered a massive stroke and fell into a deep coma in late 2004. When recovery was determined to be highly improbable, his life support systems were terminated. He died peacefully on the 11th day, surrounded by his loving family.
