About Me

Maktub is based out of Seattle, Washington. We've been playing together for 7 or 8 years (can't remember exactly). Our main inspiration comes from writing music together. We've always had a crazy ability to compose songs within minutes together. In fact, there's probably a body of work of 150 songs that we've never released ... most of it the product of impromtu jam sessions that occur in the rehearsal space, at soundcheck or improv nights that we hold periodically around Seattle. That's how we came together as a band and that's what keeps us writing music together.In May of 2007 we began recording a new album (our 4th) with Steve Fisk & Stuart Hallerman (Producer & Co-Producer). We've got a couple months of work left with a few vocal overdubs and then Steve will be mixing the album. Head on over to maktub.com if you'd like to learn more. Woot!

One final tweak.

The mastering sounds great. Kevin made some slight adjustments to the sequence and one little volume tweak (kick drum too loud!---what???) Hopefully we will be able to release the record on Oct. 22. C...
