God Brought you here to me was a song I wrote for my stepdaughter, Gwen and her husband, David. Gwen had called me in December 2006 to ask me if I would would write her a wedding song. I said that I would if it came to me. However, I had not written any songs in two years, so I didn't think this task would be an easy one. One week later, I was walking through the kitchen, playing my guitar, and it started coming to me. I was surprised because it was coming so fast! I scrambled to grab a pen and started writing amidst a steady stream of tears that blurred my vision, making it difficult to write. Somehow, I finished the song in 10 minutes! God's vision or plan for us is often different than our own plans, so little did I know that I would be singing this song for a much different celebration.Watching over me is a song that I wrote to show my love for my daughter, Gwen. I hope she knows that I am thankfully aware of the times that she has graced me with her presence. I truly believe that God, with Gwen by his side, is watching over all of us. For those of you who knew Gwen, you will agree: Gwen was, and still is, an amazing person. She really cared and still cares about all her friends and family. If you knew Gwen, I hope that this song will remind you how lucky you were and still are to have known her. I cherish the time I spent with Gwen, and I am looking forward to seeing her again.
