Music:
It ain't what they call Rock n Roll. Although, Dave would call it Rock n Roll...
I used to love good metal bands like C.O.C, Ozzy, Megadeth. In the past couple years I've geared more toward sappy soft rock - weird. Somewhere I lost my intensity.
I HATE the new age of pop-metal crap on the radio (i.e. Nickelback, Buckcherry, POD, etc, etc)...
Movies:
For me - a movie, much like a good song, has to take you on a ride. It's gotta take you mentally and emotionaly to what is happening. So... I'm gonna try to list movies that were particularly intense for meand the response they create:
Office Space - Made me want to quit work forever.
I am Sam - One of the most heartwrenching films ever made.
Murder In the First - Another sad story. About the downfall of Alcatraz.
Usual Suspects - Kaiser Sose, what needs to be said?
American History X - Brutal
Mallrats - Quality humor
Wishful thinking - Qwerky, feel good womans movie but interesting. I like the opening scene. The guy reminds me of myself a bit.
Six Ways to Sunday - Great Indie film with Debra Harry
Television:
Does anyone remember the Adult Swim program called Home Movies? That was one of my favorites. That 70's show kicks ass too!
Books:
Books, newspapers, science journals, medicine, sports, whatever - I've been thinking lately that I should get back into reading and paying attention to what goes on in the world. I've been way too out-of-it for too long. My brain is rotting from alcohol poisoning. BTW: Too many fiction books rot your brain too!!
Heroes:
My Mom - Although she makes me crazy most of the time. She seems to have such a strong will to be part of the operable American society. She never gets depressed, never loses her will to work and has always done what she needs to take care of us (she raised 3 kids on her own). Her unwavering spirit is amazing.
