About Me
Sherry is one of Detroit's first new breed of DJ's that not only erotically gives you an "ear"-gasm that feeds your soul and your body, but gives you an adult visual display of antics and entertainment to satisfy and entertain your eyes as well. You're not going to find many ultra-feminine DJ's out there that will sway you with Mary J, Jill Scott, Erykah and Floetry....re-route you with Beyonce, Janet, Ciara and the lastest hustles....blow you up with T.I., Chingy, Jeezy, Jim Jones, Da Brat, Lil Jon and Ludacris...back you up with Tyrese, Chris Brown, Omarion and Usher...then send your head into a "thang" with some Black-Eyed Peas, Pussy Cat Dolls, Green Days, Justin Timberlake and Outkast.....and just as you realize that you are sweaty, tired and can barely keep your balance because of the alcohol you have just "taken to the head" (by her demand) in this dancing, feverish frenzy...you would think that this sadistic DJ Diva would chill the phuck out... but you find yourself swaying with your arms against the walls of the club as you listen to the likes of Les Nubians, India Arie and Corrine Bailey Rae....she's sick, she's cool, she's sadistic....and she is SHERRY.
Bottom line...you won't be pissed that you came out to party with Sherry and her crew...flat out. Everybody goes home with weak knees, (traditional)and the sweet, euphoric thoughts of coming back next week to experience the DJ's demented musical carnage. With her quick wit and erotic, keen sense of humor...you get the feeling that you are clubbing at Comicview with a strong sprinkling of sexual innuendos here and there. You have to experience it to believe it. Never a dull moment, but always the consistent personal feel that makes you feel like you should be wherever she is. Need a smile? This DJ has one that will make you slap yo' momma and not even apologize. Oh yeah.....there's this "thang" that she has about birthdays. No matter who you are, if it's your birthday...you get her full attention. Oooh Wee....(sorry Tina)
Born in Chicago IL, this Chi-town native has no reservations about growing up on the South Side of Chicago. "People look at the South Side as the ghetto...well it is, what it is, but it taught me independence, loyalty (above all else), humbleness and the drive to be the best me I can be", quoted Sherry. "The ghetto can be good to you, if you so choose to extract the positive drive that it can undoubtly offer". The gift to sing, entertain and act was natural and came at an early age which was quickly noticed in early school days.
The family relocated to Detroit during Sherry's rebellious teenage years. During these times, only music and singing had a calming effect on her. Later on, singing background and lead vocals in local bands helped to satisfy the entertainment "itch" she possessed. Soon finding that being a studio vocalist was more her "cup of tea", she worked for the likes of George Clinton/Funkedelics, Aretha Franklin among others. "Being "in the know" helps a lot". "In entertainment, you don't send out your damn resume". "It's all about who you know" stated Sherry. "You're this young azz girl that personally knows the likes of Michael Powell, The Dramatics, Anita Baker and Rodney Franklin..you get the first calls for the studio gigs". Tiring of the "grave yard shifts" at the studio and the grueling rehearsals....studio work began being done on a "special project only" basis.
Now boasting a successful DJ business (among others) and loving it, Sherry claims, "I get the best of both worlds".
With future goals currently brewing, Sherry promises, "I'm bored again....which means I have new grounds that I need to conquer". "My next goals are higher than you can imagine and will get everybody's attention much to their satisfaction". "That's always my guarantee".
Believe me, this Lady is a die-hard workaholic....and definitly one to watch and get to know. GUARANTEED.
