Simply Bilon

Bilon was born Bilon Schultz in St. Petersburg, Florida October 15, 1983. She has always possesed a passion for music and has been singing since the tender age of three. Bilon got her start as a singer when she was seven years old as a soloist in St. Joseph's Catholic Church Children's Choir. It is here that God begin to impart into Bilon a gift to touch the hearts of all who heard her sing songs of praise unto Him! As a teenager Bilon was promoted to the adult choir and also began to sing with the Tampa Bay Sounds Interdenominational Youth Choir, a group that traveled the state of Florida ministering the gospel of Jesus Christ in song. Bilon also worked with her R&B girl group Carmen's Marbil, where she was the lead singer, lyricist, and manager of the group.------------------------------------------------------ ----------------Even though, Bilon had very strong roots in the church, Bilon did not have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. After the death of her mother in 2001, at the age of seventeen, Bilon begin to be confronted with the reality that her life was incomplete; there was a void there that has been enlarged with the passing of her mother Jacqueline Schultz. Thankfully, God had a divine plan for her life and used all of the seeds sown throughout her childhood as singer of gospel music eventually for His glory! In July of 2002, Bilon found what that void was! She gave her life to Jesus Christ, excepting salvation and she has never been the same since!------------------------------------------------------ ----------------------------------------- Bilon was inspired to start her music ministry after being relocated from New Orleans, Louisiana to Atlanta, Georgia in 2005 due to Hurricane Katrina. It was during this time that God began a process of transfromation in Bilon to prepare her for the responsibilty of ministry. She describes this process herself as "one similar to the metamorphosis of a caterpillar into a butterfly. As a caterpillar, one is limited seeing as how a caterpillar can only crawl, and slowly at that, but then the appointed time comes for the catepillar to enter into the cocoon stage. This stage is tight, uncomfortable, painful, but so necessary. It is in this uncomfortable state the caterpillar is instilled with everything that it nutritiously needs to become a butterfly. Eventually, it emerges into a beautiful butterfly with no limits since it can fly and is now genetically a brand new creature. When I said "yes" to Christ, I then agreed to allow God to take me through a metamorphosis to become a new creature in Christ used for His glory!"----------------------------------- Now Bilon works to use her God given voice to minister the Gospel of Jesus Christ to a dying and lost world. Her sultry, jazzy sound fuzed with traditional gospel is a refreshingly new flavor that today's musical industry is in dire need of. She sings with an anointing, passion, and honesty that leads people to the feet of Christ to repent, worship, and praise! Humbling her self as a vessel for God, she sings of her own struggle and victory over sin. Bilon takes her listeners through a journey of her life to inspire others with the hope that "If God did it for me, and I am a sinner saved only by the grace of God, then He can and will do it for you too, if you only humble yourself and ask."------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------ Currently Bilon is working on her debut album Simply Bilon, the title of her band and the story of her life!
