I am Shayne rae LEATHERWOOD it is FABULOUS to meet you. I write & sing allllllllll my music & lyrics...which have been created on just my dink ass little macbook. I have professional equipment - just dont have the whole computer connector goodies - SOON tho.. soon. But onto me..... I am constantly changing my page, my songs, my furniture, my outfits, my style. I am always bored with a thousand things to do. I play piano, guitar, drums, and your mom. I use the F word WAY to much. Blah Blah BLAAH - I don't want to blab about a bunch of crap you dont care about, and you sure as hell dont want to read it... so Im just gonna get to the point and not say anything that doesn't somehow directly affect how I turned out today. And well honestly I need to seek psychiatric help, because I think the world is MAD and im loosing my mind. But lets start at the beginning...
I was born in California - in a small town on the central coast. I grew up playing music and surrounded by the love of it. My grandparents were musicians in the 50's and toured with Bob Hope overseas as well as played and recorded behind countless famous artists of the time like Frank Sinatra, BB King, etc.. (you know that alvin and the chipmunks xmas song? Thats my grandpa on stand up bass!) My dad bought me my Kurzweil PC88 and I had saved up enough money to buy my own drumset (a green pearl 5 piece with zildjian symbols!) when I was in high school. Along with the 8 track, for my 16th birthday I came home to a garage set up with an entire PA System, mics and mixers. My dad has always been in a band so he knows the hook ups! My best friend Tiffany and I would create songs, make pretend interviews, music videos and dreamed of playing on a stage for people who love music as much as we did. Aside from art and music, I also designed costumes (Tiff as mannequin), and gowns, animal clothes (my poor cats!), shoes, & knew that I wanted to go to school for it after highschool turned me into a fashion conscience, couture obsessed, fashion library of a young girl. I knew I wanted to be able to call myself a designer. At that point I just wasn't sure what kind. Interior? Fashion? Art? Music? Web? Graphic? OH MY!
When I was 18 I moved to San Diego, CA as a fashion major at FIDM; The Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising. After 2 years of discovering my love of computers and graphic/web design was much stronger and much more passionate, I realized the path I should be taking. Yet deepdown & all along, the constant ache for music and songwriting was too loud to go unanswered. Ill admit the last 6 years, my music had been pushed aside. I found drugs and alcohol and other ways to entertain and medicate myself thanks to a severly broken heart... but you can't ignore it when its in your blood. I am one of the deepest, emotional, understanding, creative, can-do-anything, honest, loyal, full-of-life, friendly, passionate people I know.... Aside from the daily grind and the ambition toward my little music dream, San Diego is where I call home and focus on my goals. No matter what they may be. If you want something bad enough - you'll get it. I wanted you to get to this page and listen - and it worked :)
