EVERYBODY'S GOT A STORY SO HERE'S MINE.....
MY NAME IS MIKE AND I AM FROM THE RACING CAPITOL OF THE WORLD. I HAVE BEEN INTO RACING AND MOTORCYCLES FOR AS LONG AS I CAN REMEMBER. I AM ALSO A FULL TIME DAD OF TWO GREAT KIDS AND VERY FAMILY ORIENTED. I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN INTO DIRT BIKES AND ANYTHING THAT HAS TO DO WITH BEING IN THE WOODS AND ON THE WATER EITHER FISHING OR WATER SPORTS. I STARTED RACING BACK IN THE EARLY TO MID 80S AS A HOBBY AND SOMETHING FUN TO DO. ACTUALLY TOOK IT FROM WEEKENDS OUT FOUR WHEELING IN THE WOODS WITH HUGE TRUCKS JUST HAVING A BLAST WITH FRIENDS TO PLAYING AROUND AT THE LOCAL MUD BOGS. AS TECHNOLOGY CHANGED AND THE TRUCKS IN THE CLASS I WAS IN CHANGED INTO PRO CHASSIS WITH FIBERGLASS BODIES AND MEGA NITROUS MOTORS I HAD TO MAKE ADJUSTMENTS AS WELL IF I WANTED TO STAY COMPETITIVE. I THEN BUILT MY FIRST CHASSIS AND PLUGGED IN AN INJECTED BIG BLOCK CHEVY 454 ENGINE WITH AN ESTIMATED 2 STAGE 1400 HP NITROUS SET UP AND RAN WITH THE NATIONAL MUD RACING ASSOCIATION . I SET A FEW TRACK RECORDS WHICH STILL HOLD UP TODAY. I WAS THEN INVITED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE CAMEL MUD & MONSTER SERIES WHICH WAS ALL INDOOR RACING IN DOMES AND STADIUMS ALL OVER THE US AND CANADA. IN ORDER TO STAY IN THE SERIES YOU HAD TO STAY IN THE TOP 10 FASTEST CARS IN THE COUNTRY. AT THAT POINT I WAS RACING AGAINST ALL BLOWN ALCOHOL CARS BUT I HELD MY OWN AND FINISHED 7TH THAT YEAR. WITH THE HUGE NITROUS MOTOR AND SHORT WHEELBASE I SEEMED TO SPEND WAY TOO MUCH TIME WITH THE FRONT END STRAIGHT UP AND STARING AT THE RAFTERS!!!!! I WAS A GREAT CROWD PLEASER HOWEVER THAT DIDN'T WIN TOO MANY RACES!!!! I THEN DECIDED TO PURCHASE A CHASSIS FROM A VERY GOOD FRIEND (TOM MARTIN) AKA SUPER TROOPER AND BUILT A BLOWN ALCOHOL 548 CUBIC INCH DONOVAN (ALL ALUMINUM ) RACING ENGINE WITH AN INJECTED 1471 SUPER CHARGER WITH AN ESTIMATED 2400 HP. AFTER CAMEL MOVED ON TO OTHER SPORTS THE ORIGINATION I RACED FOR DECIDED TO PUT DOWN SAND INSTEAD OF MUD. THE FIRST SAND SIDE BY SIDE RACE WAS HELD IN LONG ISLAND NEW YORK AND LOW AND BEHOLD I DREW NUMBER ONE AND A GUY NAMED TOM MEENTS WHO NOW DRIVES A MONSTER TRUCK CALLED MAXIMUM DESTRUCTION DREW NUMBER 2 SO WE LINED UP AND BOTH GRABBED LOTS OF AIR AND I ENDED UP REPAIRING MY REAR END THAT BENT FROM ALL THE HOOK ON THE TRACK. THIS BECAME A PROFESSION INSTEAD OF A HOBBY AS I ENDED UP WITH AN ENCLOSED HAULER WITH LIVING QUARTERS AND PLENTY OF SPARE PARTS. I DID ALL MY OWN WRENCHING AND DRIVING HOWEVER THANKS TO SOME VERY SPECIAL FRIENDS THAT CAME OUT ON THE ROAD WITH ME AND OF COURSE AFTER PAYING MY DUES FOR ALMOST 2 YEARS BEFORE I WON A RACE I DOMINATED INDOOR RACING AND BECAME THE FASTED INDOOR RACER FOR A YEAR. I CAN ALSO BE SEEN ON ESPN AND TNN FROM TIME TO TIME WHEN THEY SHOW PAST MUD & SAND RACING. I MAY GET INTO BIKE RACING BUT HAVE NOT YET DECIDED.
I WOULD ALSO LIKE TO PUT OUT A THANK YOU TO A VERY SPECIAL FRIEND WHO HELPED ME ACCELERATE MY RACING CAREER AND ALSO HELPED ME GET INVOLVED WITH INDOOR RACING... EVEN THOUGH THE MANY TIMES WHILE WE WERE ON THE ROAD YOU POLISHED OFF ALL MY CANDY STASH WHEN I WAS SLEEPING... ALL IS FORGIVEN.
