About Me

With a voice that has been called "mesmerizing, soulful, original, and unique", Amira sings and plays quite a range of styles of music. Vocals, Harp, hand percussion, and a wee bit of guitar, as well as the occasional Hang has been the focus of her music performances. Her passion for World music and Jazz vocals is often felt in her music.
Amira is recording her first solo album. This album will contain a diverse mix of songs with guest musicians playing with her. This album will be out late 2008. Until then, she can be found playing gigs around New Zealand alone and with friends. At a recent festival, Amira had 12 musicians on stage for an amazing hour and a half of sound!
Amira's other music projects include Diddly Deux with Chris Puente. Diddly Deux has played live around America as well as a few gigs in New Zealand. With the release of their first full length album, Diddly Deux hopes to tour New Zealand and Australia in 2008. Diddly Deux is about fun, truth, and diverse music! Diddly Deux songs are also featured on this site. Chris Puente has a new band called Puente, as well. With Amira in New Zealand, and Chris in America, the duet has a bit of an ocean to cross to play together! But the CD travels easy!!
In addition to music, Amira can be found MudFaery-ing around the globe with her interactive sculpture exhibit known as the MudFaery Sculptosium. Photos on this site feature Amira's muddy realm.
