Puente was formed in the fall of 2007 by Chris Puente and is a labor of love as they say. Taking and combining all of the acoustic music that they love (swing, folk, blues and jazz…) and performing strictly on acoustic instruments this trio creates an extraordinarily unique experience.
As a singer songwriter, Chris Puente has been traveling and performing for going on 17 years. His music has taken him from Coast to Coast, from southern TX to as far north as Minnesota, Florida to Washington. As one half of the international duet Diddly Deux, has toured both the United States and New Zealand.
Also, just a little bit more about the members of Puente.
Chris Puente (Guitars, Vocals, Percussion) was raised in gospel roots in the heart of Texas. Chris began his music career at an early age singing with his parents and younger brother at various churches. A third generation musician taking traditional roots and adding modern essence, Chris' guitar and vocals are both strong and unique.
Rola Cerone (Wash Tub Bass) is the completion of this trio. Rola has taken on the roll as the group's back bone with the deep vibrant sounds of her Washtub Bass. Rola also owns and operates a very eclectic live music venue in Bryan, Texas (Revolution Cafe and Bar) that has live music nightly.
Kent South (Lead Guitar, Mandolin) has found himself in the role of lead melody man for Puente. Kent plays a variety of instruments including guitar, harmonica, lap steel, and mandolin. Kent was also raised with Gospel roots and singing in church, he developed a keen sense for harmonies. Born in Texas and raised in Virginia, Kent comes from a rich heritage of music.
Puente loves performing for a living and has continued gigging and touring relentlessly. Their courage and dedication to the craft inspires all who know them.
