The Jazz Banditz have been playing together as a quartet for about 2 years now and play a variety of genres including jazz, blues, rock, and r&b. Their new album includes 6 original songs written by Bob Tarr. Bob Tarr, Wes Laing, and Dave Geurtsen are all current or former music teachers in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia while Mark operates a music studio out of his house called Westcoast Recording. There are already plans for a second cd made up primarily of new takes on standards.

Bob Tarr completed his Bachelor of Jazz at Capillano College in North Vancouver and since has played in various band of jazz, r&b, and blues influences. Some of the bands include; Saftey in Numbers, the Undecideds, Airheads, Midnight Express, Rain, Slapshott, Rock Rhythm and Soul, Ray Doucette, Trevor McDonald, The Vibe, Full Tilt, Two Wrong Shoes, Luisa Marshall and the Big Night Out Band, and the Jazz Banditz. Bob is a music teacher in Hope, B.C. where he teaches High School Jazz Band, Guitar, R&B Band, and General Band Classes to his students. He spends time writing new compositions for the Jazz Banditz but also arranging songs for his Jazz Bands from the high school and the Fraser River Big Band which he along with Mike Murray have led for the last 4 years. His influences include; Charlie Parker, John Coltrane, Michael Brecker, Bob Berg, David Sanbourn, and Lenny Pickett.
