Imagine a Drama group in your Community that every person can afford to be a member of. Imagine special shows produced for Schools and Youth Groups with Educational content. Content developed with the input of the Parents. Imagine a place where new Playwrights can have actors read through their work in a performance set up. Imagine local communities producing and performing their own 'Pantomimes', under a scheme called, 'The One Pound Panto', enabling every child to see one at least once. Imagine being able to learn basic Guitar skills without having to buy a Guitar, so that you can just walk away if it isn't for you. Imagine, if it is for you, being able to purchase a Guitar at cost price and being able to pay weekly without any credit agreement having to be signed.
Imagine no more!
Performance Plaza is a non-profit organisation founded in 2005 by Paul J. Burgess and Jason D. Bromley and using funds kindly donated by Dorothy Bogdan. Since 2005 we have run a Youth Performance Workshop every Wednesday evening, this is for ages 8 to 16 and incorporates all aspects of performance, mainly drama, but also touching on dance and singing.
We also run two Guitar groups every Tuesday evening which are open to all ages. We provide the guitar and if it turns out to be the instrument for you, you can purchase it at cost price by paying weekly or monthy. We do hope to be able to offer some instruments free of charge, but this is not always possible.
For the future we have many plans. Soon we will be starting both an Adult Performance workshop and a Song Writing workshop open to all ages. As we grow we also plan to begin a classic 'open mic' night at an Oldham venue, this will be an open platform to all performers. These and other plans have always been part of our aims and objectives.
The Performance Plaza website has had a recent and complete revamp. Your comments would be appreciated. Please take a look by clicking the link below, when you have the chance...
