Life Is Good!

About Me

I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4
Born and raised in the San Gabriel Valley of Southern California...made the move to the Bay Area in '94.
Aside from music and motorcycles, traveling is my vice-of-choice...Yosemite, Miami, Vegas, Detroit, and Toronto are all favorites...but NYC kicks all their asses!
Picked up the bass back in April '79 near the end of my sophomore year, thanks in no small part to my friend Ryan Hubbell (1963-98; R.I.P.) who had a bass sitting around his house and would let me play it whenever I came over.
I bought my first bass (a P-Bass copy) that June with my first real paycheck, and spent an average of 4-5 hours a day every day during that summer teaching myself to play...getting myself up-to-speed...and was gigging in my first band by that October.
My main musical roots are: Led Zeppelin, Stone Temple Pilots, Black Sabbath, Van Halen, Cheap Trick, The Police, Iron Maiden, Doobie Brothers, AC/DC, Steely Dan, and Tower Of Power.
I've also always had a thing for Motown and 70's R&B/Soul, and that's played a huge part in developing my style and approach to laying down bass lines both in the studio and on stage.
Bands: I sub bass for Classic Rock and R&B bands, as well as the occasional recording gig. I get asked all the time to join different bands, but I prefer the loose schedule (and non-commitment) of the hired-gun...keeps the boredom level in check.
Basses: So...I've owned *easily* more than 500 basses since I started up...
...yup.
