Dave K and Ted V, both former guitarists for notorious L.A. power punk rock-n-roll bands MOTORPSYCHO and THE FLOWER LEPERDS respectively, formed CUDDLE from a series of jam sessions. Their songs emerged as blistering riffs with colliding melodies. Adding the talents of Jamie S from the legendary SS DECONTROL on bass and drummer Al P, formerly of the pre-eminent POWERMAN 5000 , cemented a massive groove to the tag-team guitar assault like hammer to anvil. After moving back to his native Boston, Jaime has been succeeded by former EXCEL powerhouse bassist Shaun R.On their current 6-song demo, "Something from cuddle," (recorded with the mighty Atom, formerly of ROCKET FROM THE CRYPT and currently serving double-duty with both THE SPECIAL GOODNESS and THE OFFSPRING on drums) the band demonstrates their knack for a CLUTCH - esque pummeling while cradling you with the pop aesthetics of CHEAP TRICK . They only add to the dementia with punch drunk lyrical satirization dealt out in songs such as "Blindfold Girl" (a love song?), and "Creepy Crawl" (the ode to Charlie's Angels, Charles Manson's that is). The latter is marinated in the oh-so apropos vocal stylings of Ex-KYUSS, DWARVES & QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE bassist NICK OLIVERI .
cuddle has played shows with such bands as HIGH ON FIRE, UNIDA, FIREBALL MINISTRY, HONKY, DIXIE WITCH, DRUNK HORSE, the earthlings?, LIKEHELL, MONDO GENERATOR, FU MANCHU, THE LORDS of ALTAMONT, NEBULA and WATCH THEM DIE.
