Because everyone has a story to tell, I'm very interested in all sorts of people. I hope you don't mind me being nosy. I love playing guitar. I want to learn how to play other string instruments too. As far as art is concerned, my leanings are on photography.
I'd like to me all types of people. I'm pretty much open to anyone, as long as they are practicers of love and true compassion. I'm suspicious of people who are "tolerant" of others; meaning that "tolerant" implies putting up with people and not fully understanding them. That's just lazy. When people find that we're all the same, there's no need for "tolerance", just true compassion for one another. So, whether you're just plain normal or a misfit of society, I welcome you.
Everyone says they love all types of music, but do they really? For me, with the exception of gansta rap and what passes for country music these days, I think my musical tastes varies widely. I think it's becaue I have an attention span of a 3 year old and I get bored easily. I need to keep changing. Generally, I like Alternative/Modern Rock. Also, I think there's a little goth kid still in me that refuses to leave.
I can watch anything from serious art house, ground breaking documentaries, to silly Hollywood comedies, and foreign flicks, as long as it delivers what it promises. If it's suppose to be scary, I want to have nightmares for a week; if it's a heavy drama, I want my heart broken, if it's a comedy, I want to not be able to breathe because I'm laughing too much. I love Asian cinema. Zhang Yimou is brilliant. Takashi Miike can really mess with your mind. Gong Li is insanely beautiful. And, I think I'm a little turned on by Ken Watanabe.
I watch too much TV these days. I love The Simpsons. I'm very much like Milhouse: loyal friend, misfit, has a mad crush on the nerdy girl with the saxophone. I love all the CSI's and Law & Order's, 24, House, and Meet The Press. Yeah, that's way too much TV.
There's nothing like a great book. I have to admit, I like to find books with a nice cover. I'll read into the first few pages before I decide whether or not I should pick it up. I can spend hours in a book store. I love both of Mitch Albom's books, Dan Brown writes with a fast pace, and Salman Rushdie will transport you to another world. The last good book I read was called Snow Flower and the Secret Fan. So, any suggestions?
I'll be remissed if I didn't mention my mom. Everything I am is because of her. I'll love you forever. His holiness the Dalai Lama is an inspiration. And, I guess everyone will always look up to their older brother, and I'm no different. My little brother amazes me everytime we meet. I see my mom in my sister everyday. And, I always loved my father. But now I realize what a great man he is. I'm proud to share his name with him.
