About Me

Space Burglar started messing with his laptop around 1999. With a listening background that diversifies far beyond electronica, he incorporates both electronic and organic samples, sounds and instruments to create a somewhat epic texture of his own. Expect some sort of public release due in the near future. For someone with a much more band-oriented listening history, it is ironic that his first output was most obviously influenced by German tech-dub, especially of the Basic Channel/ Chain Reaction variety. That sound process ethic continues to feature in his production. However his first most concerted effort at producing something truer to his influences wound up being much closer to Twilight Circus Dub Sound System, We, and Ninja Tunes, especially Amon Tobin. Most recently Space Burglar has broadened the palette of his explorations, exposing his fundamental tendencies towards post-rock, sci-fi themes, glam, alt.country, krautrock and wall-of-sound productions. It features much more guitar, synth and melody textures. His basic approach seems to be to grab the best hook from a song and rinse it out for all its worth.ALL TRACKS ARE AVAILABLE FOR FREE DOWNLOAD. A full album's worth of material is available in CD format. Send a message for more information. And keep an eye on the blog for updates, opinions, etc.
