Get your own countdown at BlingyBlob.com We are big sports fans...especially ACC Basketball - GO DUKE! YES we are Crazies!!! favorite players JJ Redick - can really shoot the Rock and we share our birthday, Sheldon Williams, the Landlord - hope to see him down in Atlanta too, Lee Melchione - Love his passion, can count on him to add some fantastic spirit and shots from downtown! Sean Dockery - will you ever forget that shot at VATECH? Some other favs - Jason Williams - hope he gets back in the game this year, Shane Battier, sorry he was traded to Houston as we were planning on a trip to Memphis; Chris Duhon - steady as you go and doing great in the Bull's Pen; Ewing - often overlooked by some he made a great contribution we loved to watch him come up with the shots; Dante Jones - ANOTHER FIGHTER FOR THE DEVILS! And Nate James...he was just a solid guy! We saw Nate at the Bucknell game at Cameron. So how Crazy are we? Well during the 2005-6 season we: spent New Year's Eve at the Greensboro Col watching DUKE play UNCG, then 2 days later, on our wedding anniversary we were at Cameron Indoor, in the second row, right behind the dreaded possession arrow,(yes dreaded... we agree with Dickie V they should ban it!) watching the Devils beat Bucknell and watching the Cameron Crazies - they were great fun to watch too! After the game when we were all out on the floor, they came up to us and wished us a happy anniversary (we had that on our poster of course). We bid on the tickets on the Duke website and were thrilled when we won the auction and were happy to pay up! It was our anniversary gift to each other. We had always wanted to be there in Cameron, its such a special place. Included was VIP parking right across the street and the Duke Basketball yearbook. We met Dockery and Demarcus on the floor after the game. They were so polite and graciously signed our book. The others players were peeking out of the dressing room door window but didn't come out except Perkins, who had made a great shot in the game. We congratulated him and he thanked us and graciously signed our book too. We met JJ outside Cameron, posing with fans for photographs and signing autographs; yeah we got a signature, but no the picture didn't come out, the flash didn't work, but you can see that's its him, but its in silhouette. He was very polite and when the flash didn't work he said, "well, at least we met". Every mothers dream, I tell ya and boy can he shoot the ROCK. Then.....yes there's more (we are crazies after all) On March 11 and 12 we were back in Greensboro for the ACC Championship semis and final....we sat a few rows behind JJ's family and the Duke bench... we could see right into the huddle with the players and Coach K with the white-board drawing the x's and o's. Ok so we spent a lot of dough on BB this year but you've got to be there, especially when you've got JJ and Sheldon and Dockery and Lee and they have such spirit and they are seniors. Like I said we are crazies. One more...the next weekend we were back in Greensboro for the 1st and 2nd round of the NCAA tournament and again watching our Blue Devils. It was great! A dream come true to watch a game in Cameron, meet some of the players and JJ and see them beat Boston to win the ACC again, what a game that was! We hope to be at the Final Four in Atlanta in 2007, although we will likely not be watching Duke. Then we went into BB withdrawal...it is terrible the after madness madness. We had joined Inside Access on Goduke.com and I watched the clips over and over until it was time for our vacation to the Big Sur Coast of California. And that takes me back to our other passion....travel. More on that later...But Big Sur rocks man! Gotta get there some day people and Carmel is great. Go to " The Hogs Breath Inn" (formerly owned by Clint Eastwoods )in Carmel. Great at night in the spring on the terrace round back. No fewer than 5 gas fired outdoor fireplaces and the most amazing mural that makes you feel that you are in a vinyard in the wine country. Really great place! More travel stores later.
