ABOUT ME
Video Game junky, Sci-fi geek, Comedy lover, Graphic artist, Minion of Dr. Steel, Greek Mythology enthusiast, Science nerd, and absolute HALO Freak!
My full name is William Tinsley Stephens (NOT Stevens as has been written countless times). I live in Santa Clarita, California where I am working as a Real Estate sales person, amongst other projects. I have a brother and a sister, they are the first two slots on My Friend Space, and I live with six cats and a dog.
I lived the first ten years of my life in the mountains of Tehachapi, then moved to Lancaster for almost two years where I was miserable - Taking me from the cold, green, beautiful mountains and sticking me in the middle of the desert is allot like putting a fork in the microwave. We then moved here to snooty Santa Clarita which is the exact polar opposite of where I grew up - very difficult to find good friends here.
As I said before, I am a huge geek, and I love it! I've been a fan of video games all my life. I can still remember the first game I played - had a hell of time getting past the first damn goomba in Mario Brothers. Today they have become much more than just sensate entertainment, they are an art with an industry as big as Hollywood. Of course, there are exceptions, just as there are with any medium (see Grand Theft Auto and any "teen-age stoner movie"). I play games for the same reasons why a film-buff watches movies or why you read a good book - because it's a story and in many ways it can be an experience. I find I just don't enjoy movies, they're largely un-entertaining to me and often poorly executed. As you can see from my page I am a huge fan of the HALO series which I equate to being this generation's Star Wars - And just as Lucas bore many film makers, Bungie Studios has fueled my passion to pursue a career in the video game industry either as a CGI model maker, a concept artist, or anything that helps visualize an imaginative world and expand my creativity to it's limits.
I like to draw and look for inspiration as much as possible, which explains my video game fascination. But my brother Adam, who is a fantastic artist in more than one way, has been the greatest inspiration I've ever found. After 20 years, he still manages to surprise me with his ever expanding talents. I am currently developing a story (or trying to) which I hope can really become something great.
I also have an extreme love of comedy, mostly stand-up. I listen to and watch more comedy than I do music and movies. I study comedy, and am actually quite serious about it. Comedian are basically my philosophers. To celebrate my 21st birthday, I full-filled one of my dreams - I went to the Coronet Theater in Hollywood to see Eddie Izzard perform. I actually got to meet him too which was incredible. The first comic I ever saw was the man who got me into comedy. You can read about it in my blog.
Other useless facts about me: I have a super-human tolerance for cold, I have always wanted to act, I hate stoners, I am a registered Republican, I support our president (sometimes), I am for the war, I think global warming is allot to do about nothing, I have no religion, I am quite a cook, and I can whistle really well.
And... that pretty much describes me well enough. There really isn't a hell of allot to me and yet I still find much to say. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to get back to figuring out a way for me to get a high-speed internet connection.
