Lady Godiva

I refuse to have a battle of wits with someone who's unarmed...

About Me

Greetings!
Before I get down to business, please look at my simple requests:
FIRST: I'M VERY HAPPILY MARRIED and NOT looking for anyone to flirt with, so please don't try to contact me for any reason other than to network or talk about common interests. In other words, Einstein, don't send me e-mails that call me "Honey" in the title when you don't even know me...
SECOND: I ask that you ONLY REQUEST TO BE MY FRIEND IF YOU TRULY HAVE SOMETHING IN COMMON WITH ME THAT I'M INTERESTED IN. I don't want a bunch of "friends" that I have no interest in corresponding with, who just want to add me because my profile looks "cool".
And if you're a guy just filling your friend list up with hot chicks and porn stars, GO FASCINATE SOMEONE ELSE because I'll deny your request.
Sorry, but I don't add many bands, and I don't like getting a load of re-posted "spam" bulletins. They're a pet peeve of mine along with people who stick you on a list and forward every funny thing they get via e-mail, so if you like to re-post bulletins, don't be offended if I delete you - it's nothing personal.
Ah - if you only knew WHY he was smiling...
OK, now that I've said that, let me tell you that I'm a 41-year-old who was born in East Lansing, Michigan.
I'm the middle school/high school DORK you used to pick on who somehow turned out to be pretty cool.Lived in the Big Mitten for 36 years enduring hellish winters, then finally flew the coop for warmer weather and now live on Hilton Head Island in SC (also known as "Hurtin' Head Island due to residents' tendancy toward drinking in excess) ;)
Met my wonderful husband Travus down here in August of 2004 and we got married in Las Vegas in April of 2005. Elvis was IN THE HOUSE!!!
OK, YES - I like to do things differently than most people. NORMAL IS BORING!!!!
Here's a picture of my Mom - gee, I wonder where I get the "Normal is Boring" attitude...
I work for a small but well-established telecommunications company on the island in the NOC (Network Operations Center)/test and turnup group. Work is pretty crazy as we often work with Wall Street traders to get them back up and working when their trading circuits go down. We also have large customers in the television and radio business as well as providing and managing circuits for everyone from government agencies to junk yards.
I bought a beautifully restored 1968 Pontiac Firebird 400 at the end of the summer. (I also bought the matching-numbers, newly-rebuilt 350 HO engine that came in it originally). I've always wanted a true muscle car, and when this opportunity presented itself, I would've been stupid not to take it.
The car already has the nickname "Possum" because my husband ran over a possum the first time he drove it. LOL! Our muscle car is a redneck...
Here's my '99 LS1 Trans Am - now it's got an older brother to play with! I really wonder which one is faster...may need to find that out soon... If my research is correct, the '68 400 motor is listed stock at 330 hp, and my '99 TA is stock at 305, plus the K&N cold air filter box I have on it adds about 15 hp. Bottom line: THEY BOTH HAUL ASS.
I've been working on my collection of tattoos for 17 years now - current artist is Marcus Dove from Smiling Buddha in Savannah, GA. I've had assorted layouts and pics in many biker/tattoo mags thanks to my photographer friend Billy Tinney and his wife Tammy who I met in 1993.
Been riding a Harley for 12 years now. Started on an assembled 1982 1000 cc ironhead Sportster and rode her for 9 years, then bought my current bike, a 2000 Road King Classic with a 95 inch big bore engine.
Most recent bike journey was to the Myrtle Beach Fall Rally, and we also hit the Virginia Beach Bike Classic in May 2006. We're giving Daytona a break for awhile - tired of the crowds, rude hotel staff and getting gouged. I also want to ride to Sturgis sometime before I croak...

K - now for something completely different. Ya know how in Playboy they put in the centerfold's Turn Ons and Turn Offs? Well, here are some of MINE:
TURN ONS: Honesty, integrity, loyalty, maturity, uniqueness, A man who doesn't need to PROVE ANYTHING because he is secure in himself (my husband), good friends, champagne, Taco Bell, the sound of my Harley, the SMELL of a hot bike on my clothes when I'm done riding, leather, stuff that makes me laugh, Top Fuel dragsters & bikes, and getting a snootful of nitro at the starting line, people who don't take themselves too seriously, the "THOOMP!!" of the compression blast from an AR-15 when you fire it, the hot sun on my butt.
At the starting line in Rockingham, NC - AHDRA Drags
Someone better call a hand check on that gator - he's trying to work some "gator magic" on me... Damn - this ride is bumpy too!
My dearest friend in the world, Kim and I, taking a break from being responsible adults...
Boy, I clean up good, don't I?
Just call me "Barf" like in "Spaceballs"...
TURN OFFS: Stoopid people, greedy people, selfishness, dishonesty, jealousy, arrogance, laziness, bullsh*t, know-it-alls, bad drivers, fart-bomb cars and spiders. There are more, but I can't think of them right now.

My Interests

I'm into riding my hog, driving my '99 LS1 Trans Am and my '68 Firebird 400, shooting firearms, reading, NASCAR, UFC, WWE wrestling, Halloween, golf, darts, renaissance festivals, music of all kinds and laughing my @ss off whenever possible!

Learned to ride in a motorcycle safety course in 1994 - never been on a motorcycle or dirt bike before in my LIFE! Bought & rode my '82 ironhead Sporty home a week later.

Did it myself, thank you very much, since everyone thought I was talking sh*t. They don't know me very well, do they??

Graduated to a 1550 cc 2000 Road King Classic in July '02. 95 cubic inches, baby, and you'll hear me coming!

BEACH BARS?? I've got your beach bars RIGHT HERE...

Proud member of the N. American Nude Motorcycle Riders Association!!

The birth of the motorcycle world's "Lady Godiva" is documented by photographer Billy Tinney in the Jan. 01 Biker magazine.

EXCERPTS OF LYRICS FROM THE SONG "LADY GODIVA" - THANKS SAM MARSH AND DRAGONSONG!

"The Lady godiva comes, turning the faces of Coventry, bring the taxes on if it means this

Riding down main street with a flip of her hair you know a man would go blind if he would dare to look

Blazing in the stories, A Samaritan as good as gold, but you know you'd get arrested if you tried the same thing in free towns today..

And when the Lady Godiva comes strolling along You know you won't recognize her when her clothes are on."

Just recently started shooting firearms. My husband is an avid gun collector and hunter, so when I went out on 4th of July, I got to shoot a .22, a .357 Magnum, a .40 Glock, a 12-gauge shotgun and an AR-15. MAN - WHAT A RUSH!

GOT MY FIRST GUN FOR CHRISTMAS! My awesome husband surprised me with a Taurus titanium ultra-light .38 Special double-action 5-shot revolver. PERFECT for carrying concealed!

I've always known I'm a good shot, but never got to shoot with any "real" guns. With a little practice I think I can become pretty damn accurate.

I just passed my concealed weapons permit class on March 17 - now I get to wait 3 months while my fingerprints and info winds its way through the local, state and federal government... I still don't know how often I'll carry, but the information I've gained is priceless. Carrying a weapon is a HUGE responsibility, and I want to learn everything I can to prepare myself should (God forbid) the occasion ever arise where I have to defend myself.

I'd like to meet:

Would have LIKED to meet Indian Larry - a true biker if there ever was one. Sad that the world lost him, but happy that he went the way he would have wanted to.

This was as close as I got to meeting him - took this photo of him and Billy Lane at Biketoberfest in 2003.

Call me a dork, but I'd LOVE to meet John Cena - I just think he's got "IT".

Forrest Griffin - what incredible heart and talent he has - and an ability to laugh at himself! Definitely a knockout combination (excuse the pun).

And of course, Kid Rock...

Music:

Everything from Boney James to White Zombie.

I absolutely LOVE Kid Rock - have seen him 3 times so far, and I never go see ANYONE in concert.

Especially like the old stuff like "PAID" from History of Rock. "So while you're out gang-bangin' trying to catch a murder case, your ho's on my couch gettin' f*cked in the face..." NICE!!!! The new live album rocks too!

La Sexorcisto Devil Music Volume 1 holds a special place in my heart too - I think I can still recite the words to most of the songs...

Some other favorites: All-time favorite band Rush, Gipsy Kings, Joss Stone, Christina Aguilera, Elvis, Disturbed, Nickelback (the new stuff), Uncle Kracker, Sublime, Great White, Buckcherry, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Saliva (first album is one of the few that I like EVERY song on), Metallica (got to party with them once - they're all smaller than me!).

I grew up in the 80's Hair Band era so I love all that hair band music - no matter how bad it was, it brings back some great memories (at least the ones I was sober enough to remember!)

Just listened to Queensryche - Operation Mindcrime again recently - that's still a masterpiece.

Meatloaf - Bat out of Hell - always fun to sing "Paradise by the dashboard light".

Dangerous Toys (won a guitar in an air band contest singing "Sport'n a Woody" wearing black spandex with a huge pair of socks stuffed in the crotch). Smashing Pumpkins (got to interview them when they first came out for our old public access show MTR-TV).

I remember stuff like Triumph, Jefferson Starship, Y&T, Firehouse, Slaughter - WINGER!!! We sang "I'm only 23" instead of "she's only 17"...

Ah, the good old days when I was a young, hot, hardbody who could party 5 days a week and still make it to work, wear spandex pants from Fredericks of Hollywood, skirts that barely covered my ass, and heels that were so high they made my nose bleed. LOL!

Movies:

My favorite of all time is GREASE!! (Go ahead and say it: How f*ckin' LAME!!!) I was in the musical when I was in high school and have loved the movie ever since.
Also Napoleon Dynamite (that one had to grow on me - now I love it). I could watch his dance "skit" over and over! Bad Santa (F*ck me Santa, f*ck me santa!!), Slingblade (I'll have some of them french-fried potaters, mmmm hmmmmm), Jeepers Creepers II, Crank, Blade Trinity, Faceoff, The Rock (love it when Nick Cage asks Sean Connery if he can't do something about the dead guy's twitching "feet thing" - he replies "Like what? Kill him again?", Austin Powers, Grandma's Boy. Will update as more come to mind.
Pics below from the Michigan Renaissance Festival - I went every year when I lived there, and still go every year when I go back. Pass the cider...
My character "NEMESIS" - Kinda like Xena, only blonde.
HOLY CORN-FED HOOTERS!! You got a license for those?
Pics below from our honeymoon in Kaua'i, Hawaii - April 2005. THE most incredible ride on a motorcycle I've ever had. Pulled over and took the picture of the waterfall - it was breathtaking.

Television:

Powerblock TV (Muscle Car, Horsepower TV, 4x4, etc.), Barrett Jackson auctions, Ultimate Fighter, Pinks (Is it for real?), WWE, ECW and TNA wrestling (KNOW it's not for real! LOL!), HATE reality TV - never watched an episode of Survivor or American Idol in my life! Also liked the show on Milwaukee Iron when it was on... Met Randy Simpson and he's a really nice guy.

Books:

Love ALL books, but some favorite authors: John Grishom, Stephen King, Tom Clancy, Dean Koontz, Patricia Cornwell.

Heroes:

All the heroes from 9/11 and our military.
