About Me

..
..
Hello everyone and welcome to my page!
I grew up in upstate New York, primarily in a rural country and farm area called Conklin, on the outskirts of a city called Binghamton, with my parents and two older sisters Tracey and Tammy. I moved to Warner Robins, Georgia, which is about an hour south of Atlanta almost eight years ago and love the warm climate and plentiful sunshine. A vast difference between New York and Georgia but I feel like I have already lived two lives with one in a northern snowy country hillside surrounded by woods bordering a valley and another state Pennsylvania and another in a hot, thriving military town and city with mostly four lane roads and shopping plazas in the southeast. Life in Georgia suits me well because I love the sunshine, I love the heat and I love to shop. It’s been a perfect combination.
I have a beautiful home, which I’ve been decorating myself with bright colors and a relaxed, romantic, tropical feel that I share with my fiancée Chris. We’ve been together since I was 17 and he 19 after a long friend basis and common fascination with cars, primarily with Mustangs. Since our years together we’ve never been without at least one Mustang in the driveway, there’ve been times when we were up to three. Currently we have my 2003 zinc yellow Mustang GT that he bought me brand new as a birthday/graduation present. He’s been allowed to touch every other Mustang especially including my yellow 90 GT that I had before this one but I haven’t let him touch my new one until now. I’ve finally given in and he’s planning to start off simple with a while with an aftermarket exhaust. I’m sure I’m going to kill him soon enough when he brings it home like the last one and I don’t even recognize my own car. We attend a lot of drag race events in the southeast including Orsca Outlaws and NMRA although our local track on Friday nights gives us as much enthusiasm with the many hot rods that seem to be cruising the streets of Warner Robins and nearby towns on an everyday basis. If you want to see daily driven rods with aftermarket everything then you need to come to Robins and check it out.
We have plenty of animals including freshwater fish although if Chris can help it we will have saltwater fish soon, our two parakeets Hound Dog (H.D.) and Catori, two cats Snowy and Tippy and our two Labrador Retrievers Autumn, which is yellow and six years old and Gage (AKC Smith’s Gage Lakeridge) whom was bred from a 16 championship family that is pure black and four years old. He doesn’t act like it though he is surely Mommy’s baby according to Christopher and Autumn is daddy’s girl according to myself. Don’t let our children fool you because they are completely and utterly spoiled. They pretty much run the house, my latest SUV, our friends and everything in between.
Career wise, Chris has been in the civil service logistics unit with the Air Force base of Robins. He’s an Advanced Structural Technician on F-15 Eagles mainly working on the verticals which are the huge tail wings jetting off of the back of the airplane. He's basically one of the many guys working "behind the scene" to help keep our American freedom. He does a lot of reconstruction of the wings, which is why a lot of times he is called out to another base. Lately he’s been making frequent trips to Eglin Air Force Base in Fort Walton Beach, Florida and he begs me to come along with him if I have the time. I love these trips because our condo is right on one of the top 10 beaches in the world. It’s our little vacation and we’re not too far away from home. We love to get out as much as we can and love to travel especially in the spring and summer time. We mainly travel throughtout the east coast and the south.
As for me I’ve been in the medical and real estate fields for quite a while. I’m currently in pre-med school at a local college and I love the challenge of it and it does take up most of my time. My most rewarding work so far was being an assistant for a pediatrician. I did everything from counseling parents to recommending options to vision/hearing checks, immunizations, burns, tests and follow-ups. There’s nothing more rewarding than making a sick child feel better even if it’s just for a day. I miss the times that I shared with many of the kids who now see me outside of the office and parents who tell me that I should have never left but I believe in higher education and therefore I went with it. My days consist again with classes and studying and praying that each semester I have decent professors. A great teacher makes all the difference.
My hobbies include decorating, gardening and reading, writing and painting especially in the ocean romance theme. I love music of all types but I my most favorite is Jimmy Buffett. One day I’d love to have a sailboat and a flying boat (seaplane). There’s nothing better to me than sailing and flying and dreaming.
I better stop before this becomes a novel thanks to my writing capabilities. I am on here mainly to keep in touch with family, current friends and childhood friends who have seemed to have also sprang up by the abundance on here. I write a lot and most everything is set to the public unless it’s something too sensitive that involves more than just myself on it.
I do participate on message boards including HGTV’s Trash to Treasure forum and current depression boards. I suffered with severe depression for ten years forming when I was in my earliest pre-teen years and finally won the battle over the extreme roller coaster ups and downs. It helps me to help others and it is a disease but one that doesn’t have to affect your everyday life. I’m living proof of that. I did everything I could in order to make me as happy as I am today. It took willpower and faith and guidance and breaking free of being held down, some crucial parts of life that I feel that most of us have been missing in one way or another. We all need it to appreciate what we have.
My AIM and Yahoo is Tara03GT and I have my art and writing site below. Family and friends call me Tare, Tare-Tare, Tarezy, Baby, Gail or Tara-Gail and a few others so pick whichever you like.
Until I see you in the sky or in the warm waters,
-Tara
