BIG RUBE

DEF POETRY JAM Big Rube was born in Atlanta, Georgia. As a child he was heavily into art, and at age 13 he decided that he wanted to get into music.At age 18 he co founded Organized Noize/ Dungeon Family and later on was featured on Outkast’s debut album Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik. He was also a member of the funk group Society of Soul comprised of himself, Esperanza, and the Organized Noize production trio themselves, Sleepy Brown, Rico Wade and Ray Murray.Since then he has been featured on several records, and appeared on Def poetry jam. You can read his column in Rolling Out Urban Style Weekly which is a free periodical aimed at the black community, in general, Rube is currently preparing to release his debut book entitled Scrolls, as well as his debut solo album.Big Rube has always been, and always will be an advocate for furthering the advancement of education and quality of life of the people.
