DESTONIA is the music you will come to know and crave - the music is an agreement between its players and fans on the best sound to rock out to or to relate to. MITCH BRUZZEZE ('Maximus' - drums) holds the energy and groove of the music. TIMMY ENTWISLE ('Thripple' - bass) is his partner in crime, keeping it tight and bringing a hard rock flavour to the band. ASHLEY MORSE ('Mr Balls' - Keys & BV) "Intelligence", gives the boost and support, all those chords that sit well in your ear...that's him. NATHAN LIMBERS('Shags' - lead guitar) all about the sound, communicates through his guitar, breathes funk. TJ POWER ('BFG' - Vocals & guitars) sits on the music and breathes it to life.The band started in high school, back in 2001. At the time we were a four piece jamming to old-school rock and funk tunes and playing at school music nights, but we later moved on to do private parties, and as fate would have it - the Sydney circuit & onto band comps and recording!With a growing interest surrounding the band, the boys were given the opportunity to cut their first album titled Going Places November 2001. This album was a huge success, drawing the attention of local radio stations and venues and creating an ever-increasing number of loyal fans and followers.This support and energy for this new music fuelled Destonia to spend the following year perfecting and cultivating a large amount of new material and pleasing fans everywhere they played. Then they were taken to a new level when public demand sparked a need for a DESTONIA concert. The boys put together a show which allowed local talent to perform while raising money for charity (DESTONIA headlined later in the evening). This concert is known as "The Nite" and has 3 sold out shows to date. Winning more comps, selling CDs and hosting "The Nite" meant that the band had raised more than enough funds to record album number 2. The improvement the band had shown over the past year was more than evident with the overwhelming public response and CD sales to follow (Even the band members had to give away their own copies of the CD!).In July 2004, DESTONIA found themselves producing their greatest work to that date: "Life" which is still in hot demand and short supply today. This was the beginning of a new collaborative style and appraoch that mixes hard rockin' funk with smooth and moving progressions with punching hook lines! This style kickstarted the DESTONIA of today... Since "Life", the original drummer Ashley Morse, has moved up front to manage the keys & mix vocals with TJ. Graciously filling the kick position allowing the music to grow to its unbridled, mature potential was Mitch Bruzzeze who, given, the chance will rock your socks off!To date, Destonia has 3 albums, 1 E.P. (available at gigs or on request) and a variety of yet to be recorded material. Presently, frontman TJ is flying between Perth and Sydney as he pursues his other talents, thus DESTONIA's live shows are limited to mid-year & end of year breaks. FOR THIS REASON make sure you make the most of them while they are in town - to be a part of the grass roots DESTONIA culture before TJ returns in late 2008 to a full strength DESTONIA who will then take the world by storm!
