About Me

So this is me on Myspace… The place where you can be anyone or anything you want to be and no one will really know the difference. Previously, this page was for the purpose of getting my music out there and making me out to be some huge up and coming sensation so that if the ‘right’ people were to come across this site, perhaps they’d give a damn. Now Myspace has taken on a new role for me. Because it is the place where I can choose to be whatever I want to be, I’m choosing to be myself. After all it’s probably the only public place I’ll have a say in how I am to come across so why waste the opportunity to give people a glimpse of the real me? Obviously if you’ve never met me there’s nothing I can really say that will tell you who I am, but if I can get my wording right, hopefully I can give you a glimpse into my world and those seeking to find a better understanding of my music will benefit from the knowledge of where I’m coming from.Because this is primarily a music page I’ll be talking about my life as a musician and omitting the many other just as relevant aspects of my life and personality for the sake of consistency but please feel free to ask me whatever you want to know. Although my responses may be few and far between, I honestly do my best to get back to people so please don’t despair if I take ages to respond. Because this is my space and I don’t have anyone running it for me, when life gets hectic I don’t always have the time to give it the attention that it might require. Please feel free to keep trying. I would rather you feel like you could ask me if there’s something you’d really like to know than have you hear it second-hand from someone else.To state the obvious, my name is Ashley Morse and I’m a 21 year old singer/songwriter from Sydney, Australia. Everybody is gifted in one way or another and my gift is the ability to write songs that make people feel. I’m not out there to impress anyone with my musical technicality because let’s face it I’m neither the most gifted pianist or the most technically trained vocalist. If anything as a composer I pride myself on being more of an instrument than an instrumentalist. I write songs because they want to be written and I play songs because I believe they need to be heard. I want to help people to feel again because there are too many people living in mediocrity, terribly unhappy with their existence and it doesn’t have to be that way. I’m not at all suggesting that people should be happy all the time because living that way would be excluding a whole other side of life’s broad spectrum of worthwhile experiences. My hope is just to help people to be moved in any way at all. I was numb for too many years and music saved me from myself... Now it’s my turn to pay it forward. Please feel free to browse through the rest of my page, read the blogs and so forth. If you feel like leaving some, I would love to hear your feedback whether it be positive, negative or anything in between. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great remainder of the day! What is your music about?

People are always asking me what my music is about and to that question my response is always the same& 'It's what ever you want it to be about'. I'm not trying to be arty and philosophical with that ...

Whats new about your music?

I'm not claiming to have found a new kind of music. I'm not trying to stretch any musical boundaries whatsoever. My mission is not to challenge people's ideas about music, but to challenge people's id...
