TITAN have emerged from the studio with their latest effort, a 5 song 28 minute assault that goes by the name "Colossus." Innovative song writing, attention to detail and the addition of a second guitarist has allowed TITAN to achieve their most devastating sound to date. Their forthcoming EP -- recorded with Greg Dawson (Mare, The End) at the helm -- seamlessly merges the raw intensity of hardcore, the destructive heaviness of doom metal, and the atmosphere of black metal. With this release they look to solidify their place among the roster of a label that can accommodate their one-of-a-kind sound.
After forming in 2006 TITAN wasted no time in immediately setting out to record their debut 4 song EP "The Chrysanthemum Pledge." Initial pressings of both vinyl and CD -- in January and June of 2007 respectively -- have seen widespread distribution across Canada, the United States, and Europe. Working with React With Protest -- a notorious label in the DIY hardcore scene in Europe -- TITAN have released both The Chrysanthemum Pledge EP 12'' and a split 12'' with Germany's screamo masterminds June Paik. TITAN have also released a split 7'' on Inkblot records with post-hardcore outfit In First Person.
TITAN perform with a precision and passion that set them apart from others in the genre and are renowned for their intensity and staunch DIY work ethic. This notoriety has garnered them a devout following throughout the greater Toronto area, across Canada and Europe. Playing alongside the likes of Cursed (Goodfellow/Deathwish records), Today Is The Day (Relapse records), and Planes Mistaken For Stars (Abacus/No Idea records), TITAN are no strangers to the stage and have toured the north eastern United States several times as well as eastern Canada. They have since set their sites on Europe with dates planned throughout June and July of 2008.
With their busiest schedule to date and their most refined sound since their inception the juggernaut known as TITAN shows no signs of slowing down
