About Me

Check out my web site at www.danielkokin.com to see some of my photography. I believe it says a lot about me and my view of the world....So, what are my hobbies/passions? I guess you may have already figured out that I love photography. I don't do it for a living but I'm totally addicted to looking at the world through a viewfinder. I love capturing moments that catch my attention but would be impossible to describe. I probably have my camera strapped to my shoulder 95% of the time.If I could call photography my hobby, inventing would be my passion. Yeah, I know, inventing sounds a little odd but I've been building things ever since I can remember. In fact, I just posted an ad for H2Glow, a product I invented a few years ago. Check it out.

Make sure you stop by... www.danielkokin.com

By the way, my friends called me Strokin Kokin in high school.

My Interests

PHOTOGRAPHY, people watching, camping, skiing, design, reading, learning new things, taking my dog on long journeys through the city, and a bunch of other crap. Did I mention photography? Most of my shots are taken on the street but I recently began exploring studio photography. So who wants to model for me (besides Gadget)??

Movies:

I'm a movie addict, I own hundreds of DVDs, and I don't even know where to begin. I can start with my all-time favorites: Contact, Eternal Sunshine (I wish that were possible), What the Bleep do We Know, ET, Y Tu Mama Tambien, The Matrix, Barefoot in the Park, Ghost in the Shell, Indiana Jones, Stars Wars (the first three and the last), Steven Hawking's; Universe, The Breakfast Club, Groove (I know, I know), Swingers, Up in Smoke, Cool Hand Luke, Breakfast at Tiffany's, Amelie, What Dreams May Come, Being John Malcovich, Porky's, Goonies, Pulp Fiction, Singles, Amadeus, Drugstore Cowboy, and a few more...

Television:

Personally I think TV rots the brain, but I feel pretty disconnected if I don't watch once and while; however, if I do watchCSI, Fear Factor, The Daily Show (John Stewart), South Park, Chappelle's Show, Myth Busters, and just about anything else when I'm trying to fall asleep. That is, of course, if I manage to find the time. I used to watch TLC and the Discovery Channel but most of the shows are just crap these days. These days, I just watch Modern Marvels on the History Channel.

Books:

Da Vinci Code, Angles and Demons, The Alchemist, Time Travel According to Einstein, Faster than the Speed of Light, Celestine Prophecy (who hasn't though).Every Scientific American, Discover, and Popular Science for the past 6 years, or so.

Heroes:

Leonardo

Media misses mark on cartoon riots (Joe Scarborough)

Is it just me or are you getting fed up with the news coverage of these cartoon riots in the Middle East? Being politically correct is one thing, but giving a free pass to these radicals ...

I have never been more ashamed of my government and its blatant disregard for it tax paying citizens. Our government spent countless billions on homeland security. We pay for, and expect, a certain le...

my first bloggggg

hmm, I've never written a blog before. I've always wanted to get into the habit of jotting down every little detail in life but I've never gotten around to finding the minor details worth mentioning....
