Mama Selita is a Warsaw- based band which plays an explosive mix of true-school funk music with a rock fervour and doesn't shun from incorporating a broad selection of other styles such as reggae, jazz and hip-hop. What differs the group from peers are light, often satirical lyrics of vocalist Arty which in turn are supported by the deep and pulsing rhythms of drummer El Bolo, bassist Herbert and the smashing and energy -driven guitar duo of Gregor and Don Pedro Garcia de la Vronzales von Vronov. Yet great contact with the audience during gigs is what makes sure that people at the show get down and funky and have a good time flowing away with the sounds and groove of Mama Selita. The band spends most of its time touring the country, slowly yet strenuosly making a name for itself locally and nationally.
Mama Selita to warszawski zespol grajacy drapiezny i energetyczny funk. Brzmienie zespolu nawiazuje do tanecznej muzyki lat 70 - tych z wplywami hip-hop’u, rocka i reggae. Muzycy przyznaja sie do czerpania od artystów takich jak James Brown, Parliament-Funkadelic, Tower of Power, The Roots, Prince, czy Jamiroquai. Zespól tworza: wokalista Igor Seider, basista Herbert Makuch, perkusista Mikolaj Stefanski oraz gitarzysta Grzegorz Stanczyk. Mama Selita dziala od 2005 roku. Do tej pory, zespol zagral ponad 100 koncertow w calej Polsce, samodzielnie lub jako support innych artystów. Na kazdej scenie, na ktorej pojawia sie Mama Selita, pojawia sie równiez niesamowita energia i zywiolowosc. W 2006 roku Mama Selita byla laureatem na festiwalach Hip-Hop Praga (III miejsce), w tym samym roku zespol odebral rowniez nagrode na festiwalu PuPa. Rok 2007 przyniosl zwyciestwo na warszawskiej edycji festiwalu FAMA i tytul laureata ogolnopolskiej edycji w Swinoujsciu. W chwili obecnej zespol nieprzerwanie koncertuje oraz tworzy material na wlasny, debiutancki album.
