Duckett$ Murda Record$ has been rollin deep since 1999. The label was formed when local producer C-Rock and DJ Lazy decided it was time to give back to the community by recording and promoting local talent. Soon C-Rock was introduced to the three heaviest hitters in the Ville's rap game, Moldilox, Napplejax, and "that muthafucka" Jizzy. After witnessing their independant stlyes and absolute brilliance C-Rock attempted to sign all three as DMR's charter artists and the fresh new faces that would ultimately change the rap industry forever. This ingenious concept had only one flaw. Although all three rappers started their careers at the same time, rapped together for years, and were once as close as brothers, after a decadant alcohol and drug binge in late August of '97 the three, blaming their problems on creative differences, had a major fallout that ended violently. All three were placed in rehab. Each blamed the other two for ruining their rap career, and none of them had spoken to each other since. This was the first of many roadblocks that the label endured on its way to the top. After intense contract negotiations and a sharp twist of fate the three sworn enemies were now officially Duckett$ Murda Record$ label-mates. Being as professional as possible the three came together with C-Rock and Lazy to begin developing the best music ever created in the history of planet Earth. The next addition to DMR happened one fatefull night in early 2000 when C-Rock heard the undeniable emotion and control behind the voice of JJ Blaes, a strugling local R&B singer. Instantly C-Rock signed JJ Blaes exclusively to DMR. Also, somewhere along the way brothers Dub-D and Slim Seiji were signed as well, not because of their talent, but mostly because of their drug conections and their continuous pestering to be offiliated with the label. DMR's first official release dropped in late 2001 entitled "No Cheese, No Keys: Volume 1". This was a full length compilation featuring the unstopable line-up Moldilox, Slim Seiji, Napplejax, JJ Blaes, Dub-D, and Jizzy. This release brought underground fame and fortune to the label and it's signed artists.
