A STRUGGLE IN VAIN formed in the early spring of 2006. Based on the fundamentals of anarchism and most definately on having a good time, A Struggle In Vain plays music that is without general classification, blending elements of punk with a hiphop influenced vocal style care of the wide ranging influences of singer/lyricist rien and drummer/singer chad with his raging punk vox. Backed by riffmeister chris on guitar with his unique, in-you-face style and complimented by bassist mike who ties it all together, A STRUGGLE IN VAIN is what you get. We are anti-racist, anti-patriarch, anti-homophobe, and anti-authority, but by no means do we consider ourselves to be PC. We dont pretend to know how to save the world. Its all about the music and its what we live for. Its all an excuse anyways- an excuse to hang with friends, an excuse to get drunk, an excuse to have a good time. Whatever the reasoning, we play the only way we know how and call it how we see it. Hopefully amidst the good times the message is heard. When all is said and done we strive to be better human beings, and maybe this struggle we often find to be in vain wont be in vain after all. Until then we will be pleased to inspire and PO anyone who cares to listen. UP THE PUNX!As of September 2007 ASIV has undergone its first lineup change. Guitar player Chris has been replaced by bass player Mike and ex Slander bassist Charlie has been added solidifying the current lineup. So far things are lookin up and rest assured ASIV will only become more of a force to be reckoned with with a rejuvinated outlook and more PO'ed than ever. Tell the Ma's and Pa's to hide the kids- were comin to your town soon bringin the revolution with us! Peace, love, unity, equality, and as always, mother- f'n anarchy till the end!As of December 2007 ASIV is no more as members disband to pursue new projects. Thanx to everyone over the course of the last 2 years who supported us, booked us a show, gave us a place to stay, shared their liquor, and put up with our s*%t! You made it all worth it.
