WINGNUTS LIBERATION PROJECT

For the autonomous radical transformation of the so called Mentally Ill

About Me

INTRO:Throughout history the grips of the State (and now corporate mainstream media, ect…) has had on anarchism has been propaganda lies to manipulate you to believe that anarchist action is violence, harming people without reason, chaotic disorder and other such misleading and manipulated facts (which aren’t facts at all). If you aren’t clear on what Anarchism or Anarchy REALLY is, you first might wanna go look into that before the judgmental attitude starts to settle in.The irony of it all should come to you quite clearly the opposite. Here’s a really clear description of Anarchy/Anarchism at Wikipidia:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AnarchismWingnuts Liberation Project - A Wingnuts guide to Autonomous Self-Managing and Liberation. The purpose for starting this Project is to meet others that suffer from substance abuse or have been ‘cast out’ psychologically by the 12 step program in the surrounding area's of the (Northern) Central Valley of California. The WLP recognizes addictions and what it's like to struggle with substance abuse issues. WLP believes that DIY-self help will liberate us through behavioral addictions. WLP believes that addiction is a behavioral problem, not an addictive personality and/or a “disease”.Over 90% of the facilities in the United States are 12 Step (alcoholics anonymous, AKA A.A.) orientated. This is ridiculous percentage, leaving hardly any room for an alternative. This leads one to depend on the 12 steps as being the only alternative out there. The goal is to start dialog around these issues without the support or coercion of the State or "12 Step" influence. If you are caught using illegal narcotics or drinking under age, you will feel pressure by schools, court (the State), and/or employment. Some of us have been rejected by the 12 Steps for criticizing it's model, therefor, cast out or rejected. 12 step programs thrives on the fact that one is "powerless". While some of us would agree that the horizontal idea of AA is great, it’s religiosity and patriarchal settings alienate the secular and Wimmin (women). AA gives the illusion it helps everyone, but research says their statistics don’t cover all the court ordered, school manipulated, and failed (on the job) urine tested folks that are forced (a sort of psychological coercion) to enroll in the 12 step program. We see this to be an "injury" to one trying to find abstinence through sobriety (Hence; the word sobriety is defined with one having "self-control"). This is an oxymoron, therefor the word sobriety is being reclaimed for this project. Some of us have spent years in 12 step programs, dreading each meeting because every time we questioned something about it, we were belittled and told not to‘rock the boat’....SINK THE FUCKER! AA has a horrible track record. They claim they have a high recovery rate, but in reality, they have a high turnover rate. Statistical poles have even proven that most people recover without any kind of recovery system, simply consciously. AA is and holds the monopoly on recovery. It’s time to do-it-ourselves. This is a place for self-reliance and do-it-yourself behavior modification. WLP doesn’t care whether your a current user or not, abstinent or moderate. WLP doesn’t necessarily believe that you have to be 100% abstinent either. Some of us feel alienated by abstinence and enjoy the autonomous decision to use substances, by taking necessary caution. Some of us do need to be abstinent because we don’t see any other way (for what ever reason be). Though WLP believes in autonomy and self-help practice, it’s not against a supportive system and mutual aid. Sometimes people (friends) talk shit about us behind our backs and sometimes the best advice is given to us by our friends and loved ones. Either way, we embrace addiction, in all it's ugly and beautiful formations. In solidarity with others and their continual struggle to live and reclaim their lives as there own. Getting active makes shit happen, so turn your Rejection into a Weapon!More coming: Brief history on the recovery movement in the U.S., addiction and class, potential alternative solutions, harm reduction 101 for substance users, and what the hell is a wingnut?WLP welcomes nomads, vagabonds, train hoppers, atheists, agnostics, spiritualists, ‘believers’, strangers, autonomists, anarchists, radicals, anti-state-communists, socialists, nihilists, outlaws, criminalists, and other social movers, squatters, artists, writers, hippies, poets, drifters, punx, dopefiends, harm reducers, moderates, narcotic/alcohol addicts (ex-users/current users) and all Wingnut Revolutionaries, 51/50's, renegades, nerds, teachers, lawyers, pimps, hustlers, dope dealers, hookers, social workers, care-givers, skaters, bicyclists, health-nuts, Vegans, Free-gans, and so much more. This is a harm reduction, DIY-self help, moderation & abstinence effort for the Radical Mental Health CommunitiesThe Wingnuts Liberation Project (WLP) has tabled (public distribution of literature) since Oct. of 2006. I deny that there is any such thing as 'addiction', in the sense of a deliberate and conscious course of action which the person literally cannot stop doing. According to my view of the world, the heroin addict can stop injecting himself with heroin, the alcohol addict can stop himself from swallowing whiskey, and so forth.
