About Me

I am a mom of a beautiful son named Noah. I have been married to my awesome husband, Wayne for 3 years but we have actually been together for 9. I have just completed 6 years of schooling in Chinese Medicine and received my acupuncture license this November. My time at Zia Records is coming to an end and I will no longer be the Local Music Buyer as of December 28, 2006. I have accepted a position at a wellness center where I will have the opportunity to further pursue my career in acupuncture. Leaving the local music scene is very hard for me right now and I am having to deal with a lot of different emotions. I am excited for this new adventure that I am about to start, but at the same time I am sad to leave all of the many awesome people I have had the pleasure to do business with. So many local artists and bands have been such a big part of my life for the last 2 years and the friendships I have made are priceless to me and I thank you very much!!! Please remember that I am still here for all of you and if you ever need anything just let me know. I will always be a big supporter of the local music scene and even though I will not be at Zia anymore I will find my way back in but this time it will be even more rewarding for me as it will be for each and every one of you! I love you all!!!

Movies:

Never have the time to watch movies!

Television:

Sex In The City, House, Bones, and Will and Grace

Books:

Currently I am reading the Extraordinary Vessels of the body by Keiko Matsumoto.

Heroes:

My mom! She had a massive stroke 5 years ago at the age of 48. The doctors did not think she would make it through the brain surgery, but she proved them wrong. She was out of the hospital and on to rehab 6 weeks later. The doctors said she wouldn't fully recover from the stroke and she didn't. She ended up with paralysis on her right arm and leg, she has aphasia, and she is not able to work. However, she took the drivers license test again and passed it. My stepdad bought her a car and had it modified with the gas pedal on the left side so she can drive herself around town and to her acupuncture appointments. She has retaught herself how to walk with a cane, she holds a position on the American Stroke Association committee, and she taught herself how to write and type with her left hand. My mom is truly an amazing woman. In her honor I tattooed the saying on my leg "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger," to remind myself that no matter what trials I may face in life I will get through them as did my mom!
